so fc dallas get nicked in their own backyard of KC Sr and an 11 year old who wasnt in their youth system b/c they arent competent enough to have a system set up in any way that pulls in the talent of the area....
.... sweet what a feel good story...

I is interesting the we, as Americans, don't look at talent this young, yet the rest of the world sees a youth like this as a star in the making.
JaySlick - This is also coupled with the fact that Hyndman's father, Schellas, is the coach at SMU. Schellas was also a finalist for the head coaching gig at FC Dallas. Kenny Cooper, Jr. also plays for FC Dallas, yet Kenny Cooper, Sr. was the one that pointed this kid out. COMPLETELY IRONIC!!

Points:
1. That's awesome that he gets a chance this early. I hope he wants to be a US Nat.
2. Granddaddy is the coach at SMU.
3. Now the payback to FC Dallas for screwing Coop with "promises". I can only assume that Kenny is on board with his dad and he's just keeping his head down until his contract is up. Seeing that Sr. puts his money where his mouth is Jr. is sure to flee to the EPL. He's practicing offseason over there for a reason.

baby steps and maybe some missteps on the way. good news is we do have some good talent coming up in FCD's backyard.
Hey, not all clubs are like Dynamo's. Having a competitive U19 team in 2 years winning the the U19 Dallas Cup division.

you lost me with the dude on the throne...
mine was cart before the horse. heh.
anyway on the kid, i just find it hard to believe that northern england is the best academic and social setting to maximize a 11 year old american boys talents. talk about culture shock.

I would call 6 years at Villa and 44 goals cutting it, but hey that's just me.

he may not suck, but if you are having a discussion that even remotely revolves around if he is good enough to be the striker long term for FCD, then he sure as hell aint Prem quality.
the angel comment is on target and altidore would have trouble starting for the top half of the prem, KCjr aint either of those. if he was he wouldnt be here at his age in the MLS.

ya, in the past he was, but why isnt he still there? because he wasnt good enough last season. its not like he refused to play for villa and they kept picking him. he fell out of favor because he was no longer producing.

they also bought him for 9.5M pounds to put it into perspective. he performed well when he wasnt past his prime.

Hey, not all clubs are like Dynamo's. Having a competitive U19 team in 2 years winning the the U19 Dallas Cup division. They don't. Unless something has changed in the last few months, the Dyanmo's "team" is an all-star team made up of kids they borrow from a bunch of other clubs. They don't play or train day to day. It's just a team for MLS tournaments and other stuff. Those kids all remain with their other clubs during normal times.
IMO FCD is in a better position with both an entire youth club affiliation and a forth coming Elite level team, that if I understand correctly, will function full time.
