Interesting to read how different the AP and Reuters stories interpret Beck's 100th cap. The AP writer seems to really accentuate the negatives at every possible point, whether it be Beck's status with the team or his play in the friendly. Reuters is much kinder.

bottom line is, Becks is just an incredibly easy target for 3 Lions fans. it hypothetically would be like this for every single game DB plays from here on out. although i don't think there will be many more.
3L fans will bitch about anything and everything. all they need is a reason. and an aging Beckham plying his trade in the US is more than enough.

This doesn't apply to all of us you know. Personnally, while Becks didn't have the best of games last night as he is still going through pre-season, i'm sure he will be much fitter once he gets two or three competitive games under his belt.
I have no problems with him playing in MLS and still believe that he is the best crosser of a ball we (England) have at the moment and look forward to seeing him pull on the white of England for another copule of years yet.
Even Capello has said that if he stays fit and performs he could play at the 2010 world Cup (assuming we qualify of course :rolleyes:)

Beckham has been in decline for the last few years and he's basically in semi-retirement already.
How will he make the 2010 World Cup, which is still two years away presuming England qualify? People are living in dreamland.
