The official match summary from www.MLSnetcom will be used to determine the winning pick. "Between" indicates greater than or equal to the first number and less than or equal to the second number.

Whatever number is used in the MLS game summary (usually at the bottom) is used; so probably the announced attendance but I cannot confirm that.

Correct, that is the announced attendance as reported by the team.

Looking at the poll results is confusing me. Were there that many season tickets sold for this year? If its raining, this opener might look more like an Open Cup game. Oh wait... Saving Jane is playing... my bad. It'll probably be a sellout after all. ;)

Number of season tickets sold + 2000 TFC fans + however many more.

Number of season tickets sold, + # of half-season tickets sold (all of which will count whether or not people show up and whether or not they latter exchange those tickets for a future game), + # of five packs which include the Beckalaxy game, + 2000 TFC fans + however many more.

Attendance for the home opener counts as tickets sol..err... distributed. The actual number of people through the gates is something else entirely.

I'm a bit rusty here, but I think it works like this: If Joe CrewFan buys 4 tickets for Game1 then ends up exchanging them for Game10, I believe it still counts as ticket sold for Game1, since that was the game that the ticket was actually sold for. His attendance at Game10 is counted some other way since the ticket wasn't actually sold for that game, but he did show up to Game10.

I was using the Full Season Equivalent (FSE) number rather than a "proper" season ticket, consisting of the package with the fancy tickets.

So, it would probably look more like this:

Number of FSE's (full plus partials) sold
+ number of various packages (home opener, LA package, groups)
+ ~2000 TFC fans
+ walkup
+ number of Saving Jane fans.

When I left the press conference there were maybe 100 folks still left in the stands watching.

Don't know. Brook said he went back to field about 20 minutes after the end of the game and counted.

He came up with 27.
