Hello

I've done some work on updating the Blackburn Rovers profile on my website. I would appreciate any feedback - correcting mistakes, info to be added, suggestions, etc.

Nice work, mate. It looks awesome.

One change needed, albeit a small one, would be to say that Blackburn is a town - not a city.

A joke addition would be to add West Ham to the list of rivals. ;)

RevelianThanks very much. That is American mistake. The distinction between a city and a town is somewhat vague here while in the UK it seems to be very specific. In fact...what is the distinction?

I'll update it and appreciate the feedback.

A village has a village hall.

A town has a town hall.

A city has a city hall.

If you have a Cathedral, then you automatically become a city.

If you don't have a Cathedral, but would like to become a city, you need to be selected off a list of other hopefuls, and bribe the judges with hookers and coke (or afternoon tea).

Hmmm, just to confuse the City situation a little more, Blackburn has a Cathedral, it's right next to the bus station! I walked through the grounds only this morning on my way to the bank.

Blackburn certainly is a town, we missed out getting City status fairly recently. There was a choice of towns that could be given city status, Blackburn lost out to the eventual winners, Preston!

Preston is now a city, but it does not have a Cathedral, work that one out.

Sorry to be pedantic, but I was born in Blackburn and have lived here all my 54 years.

Cheers!

Who's being pedantic? I appreciate the info. It's all in the name of education.

Does Blackburn have a Warner Bros. Mega-Cinema? I know Preston does. Maybe that's why they're a city now. Blackburn probably only has an Odeon. ;)

yeh i walk through that cathedral to get to the train station. Trouble is it is mostly at night and there is a lot of smack heads that walk around so not a very safe place. Bolton could be the next city i think that is what the are working towards.

You can't drive for hookers jumping out in front of you there. Not that I'm complaining, apart from the one with the Adam's Apple, s/he was a bit scary.

Although to be fair, it was 4 in the morning and we'd ended up in the red light district while trying to find the hotel. So maybe it's a bit unfair to judge;)

The cinema in Blackburn is the Vue cinema, there is a bowling place there as well, you can see that from the railway station, it's next door.I took my son and his friends bowling there a couple of weeks ago.

The Odeon cinema was demolished a long time ago, it was on Penny Street, next to the Thwaites Brewery, it is now a car park.

We've really opened a can of worms with this city and cinema thing.

we had 5 cinemas in radcliffe but they have all gone. The warner bros one in pilsworth is moving right into bury town centre so will be easy to get to.

did you know? London isn't a city itself, but contains two cities (city of london and city of westminster).

it also has many huge cinema complexes which show the latest films that get to blackburn a few years later. look out for "kes" which should be up your way soon.

Eee, by gum. What a grand lass! Craig David has already introduced the entire country to Kes, so you're wrong.

Westminster is bigger than London. I think the city of London is only a square mile. Still, it's full of southern, shandy-drinking b@stards.
