I plan to go to the world cup but since this is a thing that should be carefully planned years in advance I would like to receive some advice from someone who already went to see world cup matches.
I would like to see all of Italy's matches in the world cup (well more than 3 matches I hoope) including the final whether or not Italy makes it.
I read somewhere that in Christmas 2004 they'll begin seeling FIFA's tickets for the final match. How much do those tickets cost? 500-750$? And do the 1st round tickets cost less?
If as soon as those tickets are made available, I sit in front of my computer with my credit card in hand, trying to press the "buy" button as soon as possible, will I have some chances to buy them? I mean are they going to disappear in few minutes or I actually have some chances?
I read that the tickets for the group stage can be bought directly from my federation... and since really few italians (from Italy) go to see their national team at world cups, I think I'll have more chances..
But what about the knockout matches? Do federations sells those too or not? I mean if they don't I would have to buy them directly from the stadium? How does it work? I mean I don't know if Italy will advance to the knockout phase, and if it does I still don't know where it will play..
Lastly if I want to see Italy's matches, hoping they play 7 matches, I should remain in Germany almost a month, which I think is going to cost quite a bit.. I thought about renting rooms in some province town not really distant from the city where Italy will play, that way I wouldn't pay as much as renting a room in a hotel in the center of Berlin.. How did you manage this part?
That is if Italy reachs the final which I doubt.. if that's the case, as soon as italy gets eliminated I could return home and then return in germany to see the final (hoping I have the ticket)... some days earlier...
Well that's all for now ... thanks in advance! And let's hope that Italy will qualify..
