i'm thinking of playing soccer this year 'cause i want to go to college as a multi-sport athlete (i'm going to be a senior)... pretty much i've just been playing lacrosse for the past 2-3 years. so like what are some tips for practice and such...websites even...some tricks to improve my skill...whatever.
if it has to do with anything:
i have a decent amount of speed but can't run forever

Welcome to bigsoccer.

That's the "player" forum of bigsoccer. You're more likely to get answers to your questions there, and some of them might be good.

if ur stamina is low...try running a mile or so depending on how much u can take every day...go for jogs and tusff....speed is a key element in soccer especially if u plan on playing for your high school team...my advice would be find some pepople that play soccer and go to a park and play with them....and just play by yourself a lot...good luck

Practice and such? Find regular pickup games and sign up for a league. Play street soccer with friends.
Websites? Bigsoccer.com (incase you didn't know, that's this one), 4skills.com, http://www.strongsoccer.com/Kingdrills/15minipractice.htm
Work on that endurance if you want to have the slightest hope of playing collegiate. It has been said that the average soccer player runs an accumulated distance of at least six miles per regulation game
And just play a LOT... there are people that forever and don't get onto college teams. You're gonna be in college next year... so... you gotta a lot of ground to cover

hey hazard speed really helps alot but fitness is what really counts. I play but i don't have a lot of speed i play in the right back position and forward position and all i do without speed is to always be in the space to get the balland hold on to it well.
Street soccer also helps a lot.

Speed can be more important than fitness, at least if the NCAA still has that unlimited subs rule like most D.1 club teams still to, since you can be subbed in and out to recover some. Meh. If you're fast enough, try out for striker... many a time have I as a goalkeeper witnessed the ever so horrifying act as a midfielder sending a long ball and some super-hight-class 60 mph runner man run onto the ball and leave me in a one-v-one situation.

if your'e truly a new player speed and fitness should not be your BIGGEST concern. i mean a running back or cross country star would stink at soccer if he didn't spend time with the ball. if you want to get to college level in one year you're gonna have to spend hours and hours just driblling, juggling, passing to a wall, etc. if you want to get anywhere enough skill, but do remember you need certainly need fitness and speed as well

My biggest attribute is speed aswell and to get my stamina up I went for a jog through a nearby park every second or third day after school. After you do this for a while you will be able to run faster over longer distances. To practise my skill I kicked the ball around with my mates on weekends and sometimes even practiced shots with the keeper of our team. When I watch soccer on T.V I practice juggling sometimes to make my ball control better.
I hope that helps.

Hmm..
Well some endurance is great for soccer.
Always work on stamina and etc.
You will also need to work very hard with your skill.
But seeing how your a new soccer player, it would be best to know the basics.
Possession, Passing, Scoring, Dribbling, Timing, Endurance, Shielding and ect.
I hope this all helps. I have been playing soccer since i was born! :) & i never joined a team till i was 10. After one year of Rec. I moved up to the Competitive "A" team. in 1 year. Learn those basics, and maybe something like that could happen with your college year of soccer. I dont get to tryout till next year because of my age. But hey..Its definatley worth the wait. :) Tell me how it goes! thanks.
