In this story, they refer to Eliseo Quintanilla as Cheyo. Is this a nickname for Eliseo? Or something else? Anyone?

I think there is some confusion as to the question, because I think Albion Road knew that Cheyo was Eliseo's nickname (based on the article).
I think he was asking if Cheyo has a particular meaning or if it is just a kind of shortened-up version of Eliseo. Anyone know?

Thanks Atouk. Maybe I should rephrase my question.
I read that Eliseo Quintanilla is nicknamed Cheyo.
Why is he nicknamed Cheyo?

Cheyo is a short name for Eliseo (as in calling: Robert/Bob, Richard/Dick Kenneth/Ken etc.)
