We'll thump them imo. New manager comes in, playing a half decent but hardly great side at home, I reckon it'll go along the lines of Paraguay, Greece and Mexico.
England should beat the USA, but what's that old saying? The ball is round. Meaning you never know. FWIW the US team will, I'm sure, likely be largely the Euro based players with a few of our domestic players in tow (our league is in season then unlike yours), the euro-based americans make up at least half if not more of what would be considered the US's top side. Conbine that with the fact that Bob Bradley is using this trip as prep for WC qualifying and I think the US side should be pretty close to the best the US has to offer.

I still think a B team can handle the US.

I think this will be another case of England using it's kids like we did against the US last time, we've got no competitions to prepare for so give Danny Guthrie and Kevin Nolan a game, with an attack of Theo, Gabby and Ashley, Scott Carson/Ben Foster in goal, Wheater, Richards, Terry in defence, Lampard and Barry joining the Bolton pair in Midfield, that should easily deal with anything the US has.

Thats the "oh it's only Macedonia" attitude isn't it?

Your B team may be just as good as our A. But the opposite could easily be said about the GK position.

No chance, David James has been alot better than Brad Friedel, and so has Scott Carson aswell, and our B team is better than your A team. It's only a friendly anyway, so it doesn't matter if we play like we did against Macedonia, infact if we lost I would love to see how embarassed they would be :D.
But then again we drew with Macedonia because we had a ginger smiling prat in charge.

:D poor Steve!
It would be great of the USA could get a result, just think of the banter for years following it! So many English footy fans dismiss any and all american players and teams and it would be such a wake up call for those guys.
Do I think we will win...no
Could I imagine a tight game for 60 minutes....yep
Too bad the american dollar is so fooked and it would cost a fortune to go support the team:(

Old Ass Calamity James is not better then Friedel by any stretch of the imagination and Friedel's not even on our squad anymore. And Scott Carson is HYSTERICAL... wooops! Regardless, Tim Howard is much better then anything England has to offer. As is Hahnemann. Period (Full-Stop).

Brad retired from international football over a year ago. It'll be Howard, Keller or Hanneman between the pipes.

Capello doesn't take friendlies lightly, and especially not while he's building up to the WC qualifiers. I think he'll field the strongest side available for a long time yet.

And that will be better for the U.S. as far as development goes. That and if a full England side is played (and I agree with Prenn on that), Wembley will be packed to the rafters. The atmosphere will be great and the USMNT will have the crowd to consider. Hell of a learning experience for them.

Please. Hahnemann is toilet. He's conceded the second highest amount in the Prem.

I'm simply just bringing up the point that although our NT might seem to be a touch in shambles, and it is. And not a level of opponent that perhaps England is used too, which is also true. But at the end of the day there are Four American GK's on starting on Prem sides as of right now, three of whom I feel have performed to higher quality over the past few years. So although we match up very poorly everywhere else, I think there is a slight degree of superiority when concerning GK. And in regards to trolling, a genuine forum should appreciate the discourse, not try to homogenze it.

That's well and good, but you're derrogatory reference to James, is not exactly the type of "discourse" in which you refer...Just trying to nip it in the bud, so to speak..

Howard is very good, his reactions are brilliant. Although the majority of the time he doesn't need them because of our defence. My one gripe would be that the guy can't jump. Ref. Drogba and Matty Taylor last season.
