I'm really beginning to lose faith in Ralston. He hasn't got the speed, skills, or stamina that he did last year.

Harris needs to get in front of the defender on a Brown kick.

Brown probably should have had that post covered.

Cancela and Twellman will click. Trust me.

Another match where the Revs clearly had the run of play with 9 shots on goal vs 1 for SJ yet they can't seem to put the game away. As I write this the game is suspended at the end of the first sudden death period.

This is a good Rev side---it's hard to understand how they aren't able to win when they can dominate a match as they did today.

DAMNIT! Another game goes by the wayside. Again, Revs had full dominance, but can't put it away in the tie.

I blame Ralston. Lost all confidence or something.

Wolde just doesn't get it. Wolde, get the ball to Twellman!! Stop trying to dribble through three defenders.

When Noonan comes in, he's constantly looking for Twellman. When is Wolde going to realize that he's not the team's scorer. He should be benched permanently.

I expected more from Stevie R this game as well after his great showings for the US. So many final passes missing their blue shirted target. They have to start somewhere and a tie is better than a loss.

The Gods decided to save the REVs from another last 5 min meltdown and sent the skies down. I was soaked through and through. Even my underwear was soaked...
___
Glad to have Rusty back. SJ really did not play that much. The REvs will have the distiction of playing in the game where the other guys keeper has the game of his life. Except for the gk, Sj is a bunch of folks in the area blocking passes and shots.
___
How many times the REVs were in a breakway situation and they get outrunned by the ball or a defender and they fall? It seems that it happens alot more this year than last.
___
The ref's criteria for giving out yellow cards was peculiar.
___
I went into a men's room in the concourse on the right side of the Fort ( it was open today). Guess what? No urinals and they had a tampon vending machine. I guess they finally realized they don't neeed as many women' BR....

Agreed, from my perspective (behind the Rev bench) it looked to me like Brown set him self up too far behind the wall leaving that post pretty open.

Cancela and Twellman will click. Trust me.

Agreed again, I really liked what I saw from Cancela today. Creativity on the ball that I haven't seen from a Rev in a long time. He does go down a bit easily though.

I'm still backing Wolde here. I don't think you can question the guys effort and more than some others on the team he tends to make intelligent decisions on the ball (with exceptions of course). What I'm seeing from Wolde is one frustrated player, and unfortunately I think his own frustration is taking him out of his game. If he can manage to put in a solid half of soccer and get his head back into it I think he can be a very effective player for this team. He's dangerous enough that you can't justify leaving him on the bench with JMM out of the lineup. With Wolde's confidence where it seems now, 45-60 of him then subbing for Noonan would seem to me the most effective use of personnel.

One thing that's starting to trouble me with Twellman: He's starting to act as a typical superstar (i.e. putting himself above the team). Lauded (as he should have been) in the past for never giving up on balls and always playing both ways in the forward third, he seems to have eased back on his "hustle". He backed off of several runs today choosing instead to berate his teammates. At least three times he went to the bench seemingly giving Nicol instructions, one of these trips included the quote "I can't play my f*ing game with this ***************, tell Leo.....", unfortunately I didn't hear what he wanted Leo to do, but every time Taylor went to the bench it ended with Nicol giving instructions to just about everyone else. It just seems to me that Taylor is starting to get a little counter-prooductive with his actions on the field and Nicol isn't helping out there.

I thought the boys played well enough today, well enough to get out of there with a win, but I can live with a tie.

Hope Llamosa is ok. I really feel way more comfortable with he and Rusty as our central defending pair.

I was going to try to count the number of times our crosses were taken by Onstad without even the opportunity to get a shot off, but there were too many to count.

I thought Kamler had a good game. I actually thought Jason Moore may have done something for once when he was taken down in the box, but no PK given (shocking). Though who knows, I was way on the other side of the field.

I agree with TheLimeChicken re: Twellman. The guy can score like nobody's business, but part of the reason I liked him so much was he was always willing to scrap for balls. This year, and even the end of last year, I think we're seeing something of a personality change for our dear striker.

Wolde does look frustrated out there, and I do feel for him, but he's gotta stop being such a black hole for the ball.

On their goal, I didn't notice much curve on the shot, seemed to be a straight bullet, which means the wall had to be pretty poorly placed. Again, though, opposite side of the field.

That Ching injury looked plain nasty. Did you see the guys on the field? They all looked really scared for the guy. Hate to see that happen.

Cancela instantly means less devotion to the longball offense that we've become so accustomed to in the past. This is a good thing.

I thought we had the better run of play. Couldn't put that winner in there, though.

I agree with Melmax. You gotta start someplace. At least we didn't lose. :P

And finally, holy ************ did I have fun tonight. Say what you will about overtime (I don't really like it myself), but when it starts to get late, and the lights go on, it starts to rain, and sudden death begins, that really gets the crowd up for it. The place felt dead until near the end of the game.

I thought wolde won and controlled a lot of weak passes to him. He worked hard and came back to connect with the mids.

Big points to Kamler for doing a solid job at center D.

That direct kick that SJ scored on..WHAT was that for?? I was at the game and looked like 2 guys going for a ball...hard...

We had the better chances...SJ's keeper was MUCH busier.

Too bad....

That was freaky. He passed the ball and then collapsed. Ruptured achilles tendon, out for the rest of the season. I thought that Ching was moving well off the ball.

First thing- I was behind Adin on the goal. Ekelund put the ball right between the wall and the nearest defender. That's hard to do.

On Ching's injury, if you look at the replay, Rusty was right behind him and started signaling to the ref or sideline that something awful had happened. He must have heard Ching's Achilles pop.

Did the fact that the overweight criminals in body armour who tore up the pitch last week have anything to do with Ching's injury?

I doubt it re: Rusty. He probably was trying his best to exonerate himself, just in case we had a ref who didn't like him.

Some observations

-I think that was the quietest crowd I've ever not heard in Foxboro. I got there 10 minutes late and as I was walking in you wouldn't even now a game was being played. Where are the drums in the Fort?

-The season is 3/4 over and we don't have 1 goal from a central midfielder. That's ridiculous. I like Shalrie's hustle and all but when he get's near the penalty area he's useless. Cancela also had a couple chances for blasts from just outside the box and he couldn't put them on net.

- Woldie shouldn't start. I'd rather have Noonan. There was one counterattack in the 2nd hal where Twellman was breaking free and Wolde missed him by 20 yards Nonan was in for 15 minutes and almost scored twice

-Thank god for Twellman. Nobody else on this team seems to know how to score

-Revs are the only team in the league who haven't been awarded a PK. If Etcheverry gets one for his dive then Moore should have got one today.

Ching's injury shut everybody up. I noticed that the Fort was nice and loud before it, but really got sober (Evan?) after that.

Kamler can score, too. Onstad was getting as lucky today as Countess was a few weeks ago.

I can't say that I noticed the same thing. I sit in the Fort, and until the end, the place was dead. I'm not bitching or anything, as I myself was a part of it, but we were awfully quiet today.

I'm still backing Wolde here. I don't think you can question the guys effort

I don't question his effort - its his ability that I question. Sure, Wolde hustles but he does not produce. Too many times he tries to dribble through players when he shouldn't or makes passes/shots that are way wide of their mark. I would much prefer to see Noonan get the playing time. Wolde is a player on his way out - Noonan is a rookie who will only get better.

I like Shalrie's hustle and all but when he get's near the penalty area he's useless. Cancela also had a couple chances for blasts from just outside the box and he couldn't put them on net.

I think Cancela had some flashes of brilliance but some of his shots and corner kicks were just plain lame. Both he and Joseph insist on taking these shots from outside the penalty are but they are such low percentage shots - when's the last time you've seen a goal during the run of play scored outside from that distance?

I also can't believe the dumping on Twellman in this thread. He's one of the few bright spots on this team and he leads the league in goals - yet people are complaining because he might not be a nice guy? Give me a break. Maybe we can find a Wolde clone to replace Twellman. We would have the nicest forwards in the league but they wouldn't be able to score to save their lives. I can't blame Twellman for being frustrated with Cullen and as long as he keeps scoring goals, I don't care if he does have a big ego - great goal scorers often do.

I was surprised that we didn't see Kante come in for Llamosa. He must really be in Nicol's dog house.

We got a point from the best team in the table, and we didn't give up any goals in the second half. A huge step forward.

Kamler had a great game, first with the assist, then he looked good filling in for Llamosa at central D.

What does that say about Kante that SN put in JaMoore and moved Kamler back instead of putting Kante in for Llamosa?

Franchino got a yellow card, which I think give him 21 pts, meaning he would be suspended for the next game.

It was good to have AB back, and Pierce playing a full 90. LD had a quiet day, and it looked like Rusty was marking him a lot.

I like Cancela. It's only a matter of time before he starts racking up some assists.

Wolde needs to change his uniform number or something, because he is snakebit.
