I understand that injuries happen to everyone, but I was just thinking about the current and recently retired players that seemed to always have some sort of injury throughout their careers.

Brian McBride - sometimes it was because of just bad luck stemming from his physical style of play
Claudio Reyna - always injured
John O'Brien - usually had some sort of injury
Demarcus Beasley - just too small to stay healthy
Bobby Convey - seems like he's another JOB

I'm sure there are a bunch of others that I am forgetting about, it just seems like some of our best players just haven't been able to stay healthy over the years.

It seems like Eddie Pope had a string of injuries during his career with the USMNT also.

Dang, I was hoping this was a discussion of our best players and the best injuries.

Chris Armas (only joking)

I don't know if it's any more than other national team. However, most other nations have a deeper, more talented pool.

Cory O'Gibbs, who hasn't played a match for club or country since the Morocco friendly before WC '06...

Tab Ramos is the patron saint of this thread.

On the flip side, I don't recall Landon Donovan missing many US games due to injury. Dempsey's been pretty healthy, too.

Agreement. Actually, I'd say Ramos, J.O.B., and Gibbs are, in order of the magnitude of misfortune.
