Prepare for a Soccer Ball Drive!

This is the basic information that will be on the Wizards community website:

The Kansas City Wizards and their supporters section, The Cauldron, are excited to take part in the US Soccer Foundation's Passback Program.

This year, the Kansas City Wizards and The Cauldron will be holding the drive at Community America Ballpark every night leading up to their official Passback Night. The collection bin will be located inside the stadium at Gate B, next to the Guest Relations tent, from the time the gates open until the start of the game. All donors will receive a special Passback T-shirt, courtesy of The Cauldron and All American Indoor Sports, as a thank you for their donation. Also the Starting XI Girls may be donating an autographed poster as well - not sure if this has been finalized yet.

The dates of collection are as follows:

* Saturday, March 29th - 5:30-7:15pm
* Saturday, April 5th - 5:30-7:15pm
* Wednesday, April 9th - 5:30-7:15pm
* Saturday, April 12th - 5:30-7:15pm
* Saturday, June 14th: 5:30-7:15pm - U.S. Soccer Foundation Passback Night

We need people to help collect the items - you can volunteer for an hour at a time if you want...and feel free to volunteer for more than just one! If you take the first session, you would need to be inside at 5 pm (let me know and I'll get you on the list - the second session will just come in with their ticket for the game)

Members of the SXIG will also be on hand to help collect the items and pass out posters/shirts.

yes they are collecting "gently used" soccer equipment is what i'm being told right now...looking up other stuff...yes any item related to our sport...though i would say no socks if they have been used;)

The Passback program redistributes lightly used equipment - shoes, shin guards, balls (even uniforms, according to the website) - to folks in need..

My wife and I are willing to help. We would like to volunteer for the June 14th game for sure. Depending on weather, we may be able to help on another game or 2 if needed.

Make sure to bring your gently used soccer equipment at the next home game June 14. The Cauldron is collecting items to be donated to the Don Bosco center to help promote soccer to the youth in the area! Just stop in Gate C (between the bleachers and the Berm) and drop off your items and pick up a Cauldron/Passback shirt as a thank you (while supplies last)!

this is jason this time, the person that she has been in contact said they will be ready by the second match of the season:rolleyes:

she still has the list and will be giving them out if they ever get them, which they have to legally if i'm correct.

one last bump, this was in the Wizards weekly Update

The Wizards, the Cauldron, U.S. Soccer Foundation and All American Indoor held Passback Night June 14 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, and the event was a rousing success. Through the generosity of Wizards fans, over 500 pieces of soccer equipment were collected and donated to Don Bosco Center so they can begin a new soccer program. In addition, St. Pius X High School donated over $1,000 that will be given to the Don Bosco Center to assist with their start-up. The Wizards would like to thank everyone who donated to the cause.
