CM4 Help

Hey,
I got my CM4 today, but I need some help, so can someone please answer my questions.

1) My CM4 keeps on freezing every time I try to start a new game. It always freezes at the same point in the initizilation (sp?) process. Anyone know what to do to stop this.

2) I haven't downloaded the expansion packs yet, do I need to download all 5 or just the fifth?

Any help would be grately appreciated.

I don't know about your first question, sorry.

Concerning the Enhancement Packs, just download EP5 w/data. It is cumulative so you don't need its predecessors and the data is well worth the extra wait.

Ok Several things.

1.) How fast is your PC? RAM? HDD space? Windows version?

2.) Download EP5 w/ Data like someone else said. It improves Game Performace.

3. Defrag and scandisk or Chkdsk hard drive.

4. Turn the Database Settings to Medium or Small.

5. Limit the number of Nations and Divisions you decide to run

6. TURN OFF FULL DETAIL. (this will be the most helpful)

Sometimes it takes a while to initialize based on its got to calculate the database and what not.

Do virus scan. That is known to cause problems too.

Yes virus scan, run one if you haven't already then disable it (as long as you don't have Broadband, if you are on Broadband, leave it running)
