I am half Iraqi and I hope Iraq will do well, but to be honest.. i think Australia will win at home (2-0) and the second match will end in a draw (1-1)
But i'm still positive of us qualifying to the next round by beating Qatar twice and win China at beijing.

It's still 3 months off and we never know who is going to turn up for Aust from game to game.
Still i think Aust should get up in the home game. The away game.........if Aust do get up against China next week and then Iraq at home then the coach may even bring youth into the side as we will have virtually qualified for the next round by then. But even with our full strength side i would probably say either a draw in the away game or a win to Iraq. I'm still not sure Aust have the issue with the middle east heat and how to play best in it worked out. If Iraq play like they did against China and do a lot of grassrolling then that could upset the Australians momentum too.

Barring injuries, we'll have a full squad to pick from. The European season is over by then.

I think Australia will win at home. On the road, it would be a major achievement if we won during the Summer there.

I reckon a 2-0 win for australia at home and a 3-0 win for iraq at home or 2-0.
the fact that iraq is missing players because of their injures lately will affect them.
but by then australia will have a full squad because the european season is over.

Guys did you see the Schedule? It's hard to travel from Australia to far West and play another heavyweight match in less than 5 days after a heavyweight match.
The advantage for Australia, so our hope is in our first match in Australia. We must play it with our full strength and with no mistakes, then the 2nd match in UAE the weather can be a good factor for us.

Not sure why they scheduled the matches so close together?? Ridiculous.

I think its because it tests a teams physical endurance.
If they are able to cope physically in a short amount of time.
Whether this is good or not is debatable.

Let them test it in any other competition, not this one.
Any way I think it has something to do with the 2008 Olympic Games.

Bro as you guys will play at higher levels other than regional competitions (Such as West Asian games;)), it gets tougher.

If Australia win against China and then at home v Iraq, then I could see a "youth" squad playing our next two games in the middle east - playing for a draw or 2 which should be enough to qualify, and the big stars kept in Australia for the game against China to make sure we do and try to top the group.
Of course we have to win these next 2 games first, and that is not going to be easy, but I do think that this is the carrot that Pim is dangling in front of the big stars - if they turn up and can get us into the position we want they can effectively have a holiday - compared to the last few years anyway.

It was spoken about in the Group A forum:
http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=628658&page=16
........and one Iraqi support even admitted it on page 17 of the above thread too (in regards to Jasim).
Maybe you have just become numb to it???
