a blind one-armed monkey could do the same, if not better, than what hugo has done to the team.

Luis Fernando Tena, Raul Arias, and Tolo Gallego.

I want results. I dont give a ******** about the style of play anymore. I rather win a WC playing ugly than failing miserably playing pretty.

2) Marcelo Bielsa - Conoce a Mexico.

3) Javier Aguirre - Conoce a Mexico.

Lavolpe already got a chance and it is very difficult for a coach to come back for another round.

Javier Aguirre is too busy with Atletico and already got a shot.

The most reasonable guy right now is Pekerman since he is already in Mexico and can be taken away from Toluca easily.

Scolari is another ordeal since he is still coaching Portugal and won't quit until the Euro 2008 is over.

I already posted something similar to what I'm about to post on another thread, but I think it suits better the spirit of this thread, so here are names I thought might be on the minds of FMF owners:

-Americo Gallego was the other candidate besides Huguito, but after his failure with Tigres he's not really the most interesting name around.

-Pekerman has experience and is doing a decent job with Toluca, so, he might be an option.

-Meza... the guy is a solid club coach, but he sucked as a NT coach, I don't see him taking the job either.

-Mario Carrillo wanted the job last time, but he has some issues with Azcarraga and I doubt that Televisa would back him up for the job.

-LaVolpe... I think is a little bit to soon for that.

-Lapuente, he's relationship with Televisa isn't the best right now, and he just took the job in Tigres.

-Aguirre, I wish we could convince him to leave Atletico and take the NT team. C'mon Vasco be a patriot take us to South Africa!!!!

-Bianchi, he has a good relationship with Televisa, is out of job, has won a lot in SA, but his downsides are that he has no experience on Mexican football and hasn't coached a NT either.

-I doubt Mourinho is interested in taking us right now, I believe he's waiting for a European giant (either a club or NT) to call, and besides I really don't think that the FMF is gonna give the job to a man out of the establishment, heck remember that this guys rejected Felipao in the past.

Some others you guys reminded me are:

-LF Tena, a good coach but he just took over Monarcas.

-Chucho Ramirez, but it would be a bit of a coin toss, since he doesn't have experience coaching a first division side.

- Some other great names that sadly are currently under contract somewhere. Hiddink with Russia, Bielsa with Chile, Beenhaker (sp?) with Poland and Scolari with Portugal.

-Also I remember that at the time the owners where talking about choosing a coach someone mentioned Lippi, that might be an interesting direction, but once again the two issues, is he willing to take us? and do we want a coach with no experience in Mexican futbol?

That's it, I really can't think on other coaches that could be ready right now to take the job, there's promising young mexican coaches but I don't think that are quite ready to step up for the challenge like Herrera and el Profe Cruz.

Those options are a joke. What a dumbarse.

I think we need a World Class coach who doesn't know much about our football and players. This way he would be able to pick out the players by being objective eliminating any biased decisions. Someone who bases his tactics and formation on what the players can do, and not the other way around.

Those options are a joke. What a dumbarse.

You are the dumb-arse for believing that any coach, be it World Class or not, would be allowed to come into the FMF and coach at free will. Football is a buisness and there is too much riding on contracts and sponserships to not have certain players in the national team.

Do you realize that one of the main reasons Aguirre did not want to re-new his contract or wants to work with the FMF is because he was forced to call up Luis Hernandez and Garcia Aspe to the World Cup 06 roster. I believe at the time Aspe had a contract with Guillet and LH with Pepsi. There are plenty more examples, but you will find out for yourself, the longer you keep watching footy.

I think he should be an option, but I bet he isn't or wouldn't be one. Yes, he definitely would accept, he is a competitor and will always take the challenge. I know most hate him, but the most important thing is that all of his players respect and like him and that is important in building a team. Hugo can't say the same from his teams.
