I haven't seen this posted yet, but looks like the fall edition of the HFestival will indeed be at RFK on Oct. 4.
Is it just me or does the field seem like it hasn't fully recovered from the concert back over Memorial Day? I suppose we get to look forward to a piss poor pitch for the last two games of the season, plus perhaps even playoffs. Joy!

Damn, I was hoping maybe they'd put this one at FedEx or something.
The pitch is just starting to look better, too.

Well, it won't be so bad...DC United doesn't have a home game until October 19th so hopefully they can get the sod back in good shape by then...
But this is the Stadium Autocrats we're talking about... :(

This is where I post the obligatory rant about how much HFS completely sucks now. Boy, I miss the days of Damien, Weasel and 102.3 on your FM dial.

Folks,
The whole problem with the first go round was the weather, not the concert itself..
The entire field was replaced after the concert and then we preceeded to be bombarded with basically a month of rain with very few sunny days in between and this had everything to do with the poor condition of the field..
HFS paid for the last field to be replaced and they will pay for this one as well... One thing to be sure though is that the weather can't possibly be as bad as it was earlier this summer and we will have basically 15 days before we play on it as well.. Last time around we played on it almost immediately and didn't really give it a chance to seed properly..
The field staff is fully aware of how bad it looked last time round and will do everything it can to make sure the field is presentable for the stretch run of matches..

Yellow card for unbridled optimism on the DCU boards...don't let it happen again :D

Wow, I didn't see that one coming.
I was actually thinking about going, too. Wanted to see OAR.

If you want to see something disturbing, check out the video "Hfsetival - the fall edition" at the bottom of the page.
It's hard to tell if it's actuall footage from RFK, but it appears to be kids crowd surfing on the plastic tiles intended to protect the turf.

That happened the year I went...Spring of 01. Nobody was doing anything to stop it, it was during Green Day's set, the second to last one of the day.

I'm gald it's cancelled. Now I won't have to hear annoying ads on the radio promoting it and how "cool" HFS is.
