I just got an email from setanta sports, saying that they are ceasing trade with ITVN effective at the end of the month...

I don't know if this will be readable or not, but it says:

Dear Setanta Subscriber
Setanta on ITVN
We are as sorry as you to learn that ITVN will no longer be able to provide you with access to Setanta Sports. You may still be receiving the channel as of today but that will come to end this month as ITVN has ceased to trade.

They then go on to offer you deals for Directv and Dish network. Stupid comcast... I guess i'll be canceling my ITVN at the end of the month...

Well, I guess this is why I cannot sign in. Won't be seeing West Ham at 3pm today I guess.

This blows big time, I am currently in my 8th month of a twelve month contract, I wonder If I am able to cancel service with ITVN if my subscription of Setenta Sports runs out as it cancels at the end of this month.

I tried to get Setanta up last night but it couldn't reach the server. I did get to watch one video on the music channel....I wanna be sedated, by the Ramones. I actually thought that was their swan song or something, but then I found other crummy videos by Iron Maiden and Elton John.

to aftathot - wouldn't worry about the contract, as ITVN, and the company they were being bought by are both out of business - that's why Setanta is being canceled on ITVN.

Rev's Irish Rose, check the media thread, there's a bunch of us that got double dipped. make sure to call your bank, it's the only way to get it credited.

All phone contacts for ITVN have been disconnected, I've super sleuthed some email addresses for Execs, but have gotten nothing back.

My next billing is in like two weeks, so hopefully, they just cancel it out, cause otherwise, from what the media thread says, the only way to stop it is to change the check card number at your bank.

For what its worth, I remeber Steven Cohen of World Soccer Daily going on the record a few months ago stating that they were going to drop their affiliation with ITVN based on their terrible customer service. Sorry to all you who got duped, that's really a terrible way to conduct business.

The double dip drives me wild.

i called my bank during the week about the double dip and they refunded the $14.95 after I sent them a fax of the letter I emailed to ITVN,

Now I have to watch and see what happens at the start of next month.I hope they do not take any money or it means having to get a new debit card. What a pain.

I HATE THIEVES!!

Call or email Setanta and see if they will give a free subscription to Setanta broadband.

Why not get DirecTV? There are very few places it's not available.

Is Setanta Broadband any good? I am considering it now

IMO, it's not quite as good as watching on regular TV, but its pretty close. Definitely an acceptable substitute, and preferable to hunting for shady streams on the internet, if you can afford the luxury.

I got Setanta Broadband last weekend (after I realized ITVN is donzo), and its very good. I export it out to my TV, and the picture is every bit as clear as ITVN's used to be.

By the way, I use an "S-Video" connection from my PC to my TV, and it may be in my head (or eyes) but it appears to "upconvert" from PC to TV. The picture really is pretty good...

as far as the s-video cable goes. the only way it may effect your tv experience is if its a HD-tv and you could get a (barely) noticeable upgrade by using dvi to hdmi cable from your computer to tv.
