My impression is that it is typically more supple than cow's leather and holds its shape better. My opinion is that it tends to wear out faster but provides a superior fit.

They are softer and they mold better to your feet. I've also heard they are stronger than calfskin. Right now, my indoor and outdoor shoes are kangaroo. My last pair of copa mundials lasted 4 years.

Kangaroo leather is usually thinner than calfskin, therefore giving the wearer a better touch. Kangaroo will absorb water like a madman though. Plus, the leather has more give and will stretch as you play. I've always bought my shoes(copa mudials) a 1/2 size small and the leather stretches out perfectly. I just wore my new ones during practice until they got streched out enough and then saved them for games. They would still stretch a bit more, nothing big. One guy on my team, every time he got a new kangaroo pair of shoes would soak them in water and put a shoe tree in them to stretch them.

Kangaroo leather's popularity is due to the fact it is very durable and can be cut very thin to provide maximum touch on the ball. Ironically this does not mean it is the most durable, it's not. Calfskin is actually more durable but doesn't have the supple properties of kangaroo.
It DOES absorb water readily hence it is not a good shoe for wet conditions. But in the dry, it is hard to beat.
