The game is on FSC @ 11am ET. I'm not holding my breath, but hopefully the Scousers are knackered and we'll pick up our 2nd away win of the season.

Okay, okay I am holding my breath. I know, I know, I've got to lay off the leaf.

My only expectation is to come out of this weekend still above the drop. Anything that happens on top of that is nice, but I'm not going to worry myself too much if we lose this one. A draw would be great, and it's not totally inconceivable to hope for a win.

Im not too optomistic for this one. Liverpool look to be back on form and it will be hard to see Reading get anything out of this game at Anfield. I would like to have the same line up as we have seen in the past couple games. Here is how I want it:

------------------USA---------------
--Rosenior--Bikey--Ivar--Shorey------
--Oster--Matejovsky--Harper--Hunt---
--------Kitson----------Long---------

Prediction:
Liverpool 2-1 Reading
We get an early goal, but unfortunately, Liverpool storms back in the second half scoring 2. A draw would be fantastic and I hope to see a good showing when the odds are stacked against them.

Definitely an unfortunate result as Reading were in this game from the start. Matejovsky scored a fantastic goal but Long blew a possible 2-0 start with a wasted pass to Oster. Liverpool came back with a blistering goal from Mascherano and then early in the second half finished with a nice header from Torres. I believe Reading should have been given the penalty for Gerrard's hand ball in the box but the ref would not hear it. What more do you need for a handball other than intentionally handing it to gain advantage. That was a shot on goal that was blocked by an arm. I also believe Doyle was taken down strongly by Carragher but that was much closer. Either way Reading played well and deserved a point but as long as we can take something away from this game I will be happy. I really felt that the referee turned towards Liverpool in the 2nd half as the play was fierce and both squads were guilty but only Reading was carded. Bikey's challenge on Gerrard was possibly a foul but never a yellow card. I wasn't happy with Gerrard's actions and he got favoritism today. Tough game to swallow but a definite positive for Reading.

It was an ok performance from Reading. I thought the refs did not give Reading a break. I thought Doyle was dragged down in the box and should have had a penalty. There was also numerous occasions beside that one. On the positive side, Marek's goal was fantastic. Great to see him finally score and it was a beauty. I wasn't expecting to take points away from this game, so a loss isn't a huge deal. We have to stay focused for our next two matches at home.

Can someone tell me why Kebe came in one the left and Hunt moved to the right? Certain defensive duties?? I thought neither was effective as they could have been because of it.

All in all Reading played fairly well. They still need to create a bit more in the final third. It got very scrappy at the end - a lot of tempers flaring and I think that affected play a bit. But I think it was a loss they can take something from.

Not a bad showing by Reading, but how can you win a game with that so-called ref calling the game? Absolutley horrid!!!!!!!!

Not to mention those diving cheating Scousers flopping all over the place. Liverpool must be very proud of that win.

I'm glad to hear that I am not crazy in my reaction to the ref in that game. He should be banned from calling any matches involving the big four. He obviously could not handle the pressure that was applied by Liverpool and their supporters. I am trying to let it go but it is just tough to swallow. I hate when the little guys get shafted. Gerrard lost a lot of respect in my eyes. He is a gifted player but was a bit of an ass during the match.
