Personally I think Lagerway did a half-decent job...

how about "wasn't that nice of him, he slide in to be the brownie in the banana split?!"
... and then ...
"I'm not gonna touch that one at all!"

Seeing the title of this thread I thought for sure that it was going to be one of the too many to count inane comments from Woody Feldman, who got to butcher the play by play and make observations like Revolution players `almost getting punched in the stomach' while turning a blind eye to any indiscretions from the Revs.
Lagerway had a reputation of being funny when he was a goalkeeper, not including some of the howlers that he let in. ;)
He probably is funny when he isn't trying. In this game he was trying much too hard and came off looking foolish.
The broadcast had one humor-challenged myopic with a guy trying to be funny without any jokes.
Lagerway was fine when he stuck to play analysis, but any banter with Woody was a losing proposition from the start.

My favorite was:
Feldman: "Garth, as a former MLS keeper yourself, maybe you can compare and contrast the two different goalkeeping styles on display here tonight."
Lagerway: "Well, Reis and Rimando obviously have different styles of play."....and he moves on to a new topic.
