Counting down the minutes here till Happy Hour and start of the St. Patty's Day celebrations when I stumbled on this. (Apologies if it was posted somewhere already)

Kolo always has the most ridiculous answer.

Though Ade's answer is quite deep.

St. Patricks Day. Ive never heard of a man called "Patty". You hear St. Paddy's Day and think "Patty's" day. Trust me, im Irish.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, my nets been down for ages.

Are you kidding? "99 Luftballoons" is classic. If i saw Jens singing it i would piss myself laughing.

Kolo's answer was funny, was he being sarcastic?

Paddy has become one of those politically incorrect terms you can't use in the States anymore to refer to anything Irish, e.g. Paddy Wagon.

Since Paddy isn't really a recognizable term anymore, I think most people hear it as St. Patty's Day as there is a "T" in it, as opposed to a "D."

And that's why I didn't want to say it. :)

Really? I've never heard anyone shy away from calling St. Paddy's day by it's proper nickname. On the other hand i haven't heard anyone called a "mick" since, well... yesterday. :D

Well, the places I've been in Europe (Ireland, England, Scotland), they all really love Michael Jackson. A bit of a strange obsession.
