It seems that you signed another great talent from Fürth (thanks to the good contacts between both clubs)...

I don't think this is a done deal yet, and I also don't rate him as high as I rated Hilbert when he signed for us, but we'll see if he proves me wrong next year...

Believe me, it's almost a done deal...
and I also don't rate him as high as I rated Hilbert when he signed for us, but we'll see if he proves me wrong next year...
He's already scored 8 goals this season and is a type like Ballack. IMO, Martin has all features for becoming a great player...
But if you don't want him, please let me sign him for BMG! :) € 500,000 are peanuts for such a talented guy in my eyes...

bad news: According to vfb.de, Mario Gomez is out for probably the HSV and Leverkusen matches due to a torn thigh muscle. It happened during the Hannover match, although I'm not exactly sure when...
Also, it seems our friend Borussia is correct:

That's really crap news, with Gomez now out I think our odds of beating both these sides have just been halved :(
A real blow - these games are going to be crucial!

I thought it was a bad April Fool's joke at first. I see now it isn't.
Damn.
I have to agree with you. Someone will have to step up to replace those goals.

And you can also have Marco Caligiuri back (the guy is always injured)! :-)

Goal.com - Stuttgart Wants 50M Euros For Gomez (http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=644207)
This is an overview from a story in today's SportBild.
I think that means they'll accept an offer in the 30-40M range.

And if they don't get an offer they can't refuse, I think that is how it will be.

New signing out of the blue:
http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/376906/
The Austrian U21 international Clemens Walch will move from Red Bull Salzburg to VfB in the summer. I've never heard of him before, but Heldt describes him as a real hot prospect. He's probably gonna get the same treatment as Georges Mandjeck has been getting in this season: he's gonna move into and play for VfBII, perhaps get a loan somewhere for the second half of the season, and then we'll see how the midfielder's doing.
Good luck!

Less than 24 hours away from a game that could potentially define whether something will come of this season after all or not...
In the news, obviously Gomez is out which is a real b!tch, but nothing we can do about it, Veh was pissed and claimed it was again partially due to the NT. One thing that has to be said is Gomez is very injury prone, he's been out through big/little injuries atleast 5-6 times in the least two seasons. My prediction is that the only way in which Gomez will not become a real world class striker, is if the injuries get the better of him. I hope this will not happen. In other news, Tasci is also out through a minor injury, though he wasn't going to start anyway, and Magnin will also miss the game.
My suggested lineup:
----------------Ulreich
Osorio----Delpierre---Meira-----Boka
-----------------Pardo------------
-------Hilbert-----------Hitzlsperger
----------------Basturk
---------Cacau---------Marica
Osorio is back from the minor injury that kept him out last weekend. The question is, should we paly with him or Beck at RB? Osorio hasn't had a great season, and Beck's performances have been promising, but I'd still feel more comfortable with Osorio in such a key game since he's got more experience, so i'd go with him. In central defense, i'm very pleased to see Delpierre and Meira improving with every game, their no longer far off their excellent form of last year :) - hopefully they'll help us get a cleansheet tomorrow! I hope neither will get injured, since with Tasci injured we don't have any central defender who i'd be comfortable seeing in this big match. Pischorn? Not tomorrow, please! Boka should start as leftback, since Magnin is still out injured.
In midfield, Pardo the obvious solid choice. Hitzlsperger is also a solid choice, then there's a question over Khedira: He played quite well last week in the U21 and the league, and Hilbert and Basturk haven't impressed recently - i'd still rather have them start tomorrow, for Basturk perhaps a last chance in the starting side, but if Khedira were picked over either of them I would complain.
I think we should play with two attackers even if Gomez is out. Between Marica and Radu, I'll definitely pick Marica to partner Cacau - hopefully he can finally produce tomorrow!
With a win tomorrow, we could still be dreaming of CL, with a loss it'll be VERY tough to even beat Frankfurt and Wolfsburg to a UI Cup spot. Let's go get 3 points!

Ok, good luck for tommorrow against the HSV. The 3 points are needed badly!
And my "chosen" home team Houston Dynamo play against in state rival FC Dallas on Sunday.

I'm hoping for the best this weekend, but I'm not very confident. I hope some of the guys step up and take an opportunity to shine while Gomez is out and really make a name for themselves.

It's a big blow that Gomez misses those two crucial games against Hamburg and Leverkusen, but I'm still optimistic. Mainly because it reminds me of last year. It was a very similar situation and the other guys, especially Cacau, stepped up and got us the crucial goals.

Congrats on the important home win! Good job from Roberto:-)
Damn, did you realize that you are just 3 points away from spot 2? ;) It was very reasonable to back Armin Veh during the Vorrunden-Krise in my eyes...
