I know, I too was just giving my opinion :)
Oh, dude, I'm sorry if I came across as upset or anything. You know me by now. Every now and then I just feel like I have to remind people that I'm not looking for agreement or approval.
Again, I'm sorry if that came across as rude. I didn't really mean it to be.

News about Gomez: Stuttgarter Nachrichten (http://www.vfb.de/de/aktuell/pressespiegel/2007/21966.php)
It seems less and less likely that Gomez will stay another year. After Manchester and Chelsea, Barcelona now also seems to be very interested.
The article says that ManU is very interested and Chelsea in case Drogba really leaves. But Gomez doesn't want to go to England. But now that Barca (his favorite club) is interested, VfB insiders say that there's at best a 50% chance that he'll stay.
And of course there are a couple of new names that have been thrown into the mix.
Albanian defender Debatik Curri and Algerian midfielder Karim Ziani are supposedly on Heldt's short-list (not so short anymore).

Oh, and in case Heldt reads this forum, I'd have a suggestion: Move quick on Huszti. He seems to be on the market after Hannover withdrew their offer. He would be a great addition and give us the opportunity, to play with two sixes:
Huszti-----------------------Hilbert
---------Hitz--------Pardo
Well, I'm just saying...no basis for this whatsoever other than my imagination.
Stuttgart newspapers do report though, that Stéphane Dalmat is likely to joint Stuttgart, so I guess Huszti would be out of the question anyway...we do have a lot of midfielders already.
I don't know much about Dalmat, but somehow I'm not convinced.

Nothing is done yet. And if they do "lose" Gomez, they'll get a shitload of money. They won't find anyone with Gomez' upside (I think Gomez is the best German striker out there), but they won't be hurting for the money to find someone close.
I didn't know Barca is Gomez' favorite Spanish club. He and I have somethings in common.
Barca being our favorite Spanish club and we're both stunningly handsome to the women! LOL!! ;) :D

and you didn't know barcelona was his favourite club? That was supposed to be old news. His dad's side are from there I think. He has said long ago that that is where he would love to play in the future.
I like how he shows indifference to the EPL's big clubs ;)
I think that they will be well covered in future with manuel fischer anyway if gomez leaves

He does that now. Let the right EPL club make the right offer and see what happens.
It's great for us as fans that they say the right things, but in the end, an great athlete's desire to be recognized as the best comes out.
And right now, the best play in the EPL. Whether people here want to admit that or not.

I wouldn't know.

That's for sure...I don't think that he'll go for less than 30 million.
But it would still be a tough season without him...even with that kinda money, there are probably not that many players who are close to Gomez' skills and willing to join Stuttgart...maybe Podolski?
I guess we'll have to once again rely on our talented youngsters. Fischer is a very good prospect, but he'll need some time...I hope he'll get more exposure next season.
And who knows, maybe his time has come. I mean who would have thought that Gomez would take away Tomasson's spot in the starting 11?

Huszti would be a strong addition! But, unfortunately, it doesn't seem the management has been following his contract negotiations at all.
As for Dalmat, all I know about him is that he's notorious for changing clubs every single season. He's succeeded at clubs and failed at clubs, I don't know if he has the right mentality and he'd certainly be a risky buy.
I'd say don't get him, but we'll see what happens.

I'm still hoping he won't go, but with Barca in the race, it's gonna be very tough :( - a lot of it will have to do with how he plays in the EM, a few goals there and he's gone.
At least we'll get money for him, and if he was to leave Podolski would certainly be one of my first-choice replacement candidates. And I think he would come to Stuttgart if we made the right offer. We have shown interest in Voronin and Klasnic as well, and they would be strong additions, but they would'nt be Gomez-material imho. If one of them came though, i'd still be pleased.
As for Fischer, when his time comes, it'll come. We don't need to speculate, we'll just see.

The latest news about our transfers:
1) da Silva will stay...for now. KSC was not willing to pay 1.5 million and Stuttgart didn't want to let him go for anything less.
2) Beck wll stay...for now. Stuttgart insists on at least 3 million, Hoffenheim doesn't want to pay that.
3) If Beck stays, then Loukas Vyntra will definitely not come to Stuttgart.
4) Fischer will sign a new contract. It's just a matter of details now. And Stuttgart wants him to not participate at the U19 Euro Cup and has asked the DFB to not draft him. He's needed for our UI Cup matches which take place at the same time as the U19 Euro.
5) Stéphane Dalmat looks destined to join Stuttgart. The transfer fee is where it could still go wrong. Right now, rumors suggest that it'll be 4 million.
3) If Beck stays, then Loukas Vyntra will definitely not come to Stuttgart.
Wonder, if 96 is still interested in him.

Sucks for the DFB but good for Fischer I guess.
Local press is reporting that you are interested in Huszti along with HSV, BVB and Spurs.
Imo your midfield is way too full already so I kinda doubt that.

Since Heldt obviously must have read my post (;)), I have another suggestion: Get rid of Bastürk and sign Deco, who's on the market.
...just saying...:D

I think it's much better for both Fischer and the DFB if he can establish himself further in Stuttgart's squad, for which the UI Cup is a great occasion.

Great point!

Well that's without question it's just that I'm, able to watch the U19 EC on Europsort and would like to see the best possible German team for selfish reasons. :D

I'm selfish too, but more patient...let's hope Fischer will be on TV a lot in the future;)
