Gomez certainly wants to stay another year but you never know, if he does well at the Euros, a move to a Spanish club might be a possibility. I don't think he'll move to the EPL though.
It would really suck especially since I might get a chance to be at a game next season. Which reminds me, the games will start sometime in August right? Sorry for being off-topic, but when do they usually have the Schedule for next season out?

I think he'll move to the EPL if the right club offers the right amount of money.
What makes you think he wouldn't move to the league many consider the best in the world at the moment?
The one where the players get the most exposure and make the most money?
Just why would he not want to do that??

Important Dates Here (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?p=14634586#post14634586)
The actual BL schedule for next season will be released sometime in July.

Thanks for the dates! I wasn't trying to have the "best league in the world" discussion, just suggesting, based on his interviews, he seemed to be a fan of the Spanish league. But any player has a price and of course if it's the right, an EPL move is a possibility.

I think he will move to spain when he moves. He's said that barcelona is his favourite club by a mile.
Would rather he didnt go to the EPL as he's already injury prone.

Exactly - I also would say he's more likely to go to a latin league as that's what he's said in the past would be his preferred destination. Nothing about what league is better, he just seems to prefer the idea of say Spain, over the Premiership.

And before he left, Ballack dreamed of going to Real Madrid.
Where is he now??
How quickly things can change if the right club makes you an offer you can't refuse.....

Look, no one's saying that a move to England is impossible, all people are saying is that that isn't as likely at the moment as a move to a latin division would be. In essence, no one is actually disagreeing with you.

In football news, VfB II drew the Stuttgart derby 1-1 away to the Kickers. VfB II, despite having lost practically all its best performers to the A-team, continues to have a solid season in the Regionalliga while the Kickers will now need to win their last game and hope Reutlingen don't in order to qualify for the 3. Bundesliga.

New rumors:
Apparently, Andreas Beck wants to leave (which would be a shame). If that turns out to be true, Stuttgart wants to get Greek defender Loukas Vyntra.
I hope that's just one of those rumors that are not based on anything...hopefully Beck stays.
Da Silva on the other hand seems destined to leave for Karlsruhe for 1.5 million €.
Another rumor out there is that Schalke as well as Stuttgart are interested in Chris from Eintracht Frankfurt. I don't give that much credence though, because if there's one position where we don't need a new player it's in def midfield. With Pardo, Hitz, Khedira, Mandjeck and even Meira and in 2009 Gentner there's enough quality there.
Then there are reports about Stuttgart being interested in Voronin. I personally don't think we need him. I guess he would bring one quality that we're missing at the moment, namely being a forward who could play on the wings, but I'm still not convinced. Also, I want to see Fischer getting more time on the field next season, so another striker won't help his development. Maybe he would make sense if we could unload Marica, but who'd pay even half the money we paid for him? Maybe if he has a good EURO...
Then I want to share this list that I found on a Stuttgart Forum. Don't know how much value it holds, decide for yourself:
Leaving: Meißner, Radu
Possibly leaving: Ljuboja, Farnerud, Da Silva, Elson, Schäfer, Perchthold, Pischorn, Schuster, Gomez, Bastürk, Marica, Gentner, Mandjeck
Signings/returning: Simak, Lanig, Walch, Mandjeck, Pisot, Ljuboja
Possible signings: Lehmann, Frey, Ochs, Dalmant, Anichebe, Madlung, Klasnic, Pantelic, Woronin, Basa, Aogo, Chris, Angelov, Purovic, Misimovic

I hope this isn't true :( - Beck's a hot prospect, I definitely want him to stay with us for the coming season.
Da Silva on the other hand seems destined to leave for Karlsruhe for 1.5 million €.
I still don't know whether it would be good to sell him or not. Personally I rate him as a player, when he's on form he can be really helpful, and I also think he played a good Rueckrunde. Regardless, it's seemed for a while now that he will be leaving. It would be a great shame if he went to K** of all teams.

Agree with you here. Pardo is still a strong defensive midfielder, Khedira is als good and will surely get even better as he matures, and when Gentner, who btw has had imo an excellent season with Wolfsburg, eventually returns, we'll have another very good defensive midfielder. And this isn't even considering Mandjeck, who is also very young and has promise. In short, I have no clue why we'd go after a defensive midfielder, so I don't believe these rumours.

Dunno, I'd like us to get at least one more striker, regardless of whether Gomez stays or not. So I'd be pleased if we got a big-name like Voronin, though personally i'd prefer someone like Klasnic, but either way i'd be satisfied. As for Fischer getting playing time, I'm confident that when he's ready he'll get his chances, and if he's ready at the start of next year, he'll be in the first 11, if not, we'll wait to put him in until he really is one of our best two options. He's an enormous talent and we all have reason to believe that he will make it big in time, so we shouldn't rush him, just let him develop as a player at his own rate and when he's ready, whenever that is, he will start for us regardless of the competition. His great game against Bielefeld suggests to me that he'll reach this stage sooner rather than later.
Maybe he would make sense if we could unload Marica, but who'd pay even half the money we paid for him? Maybe if he has a good EURO...
I don't want to offload Marica. Sure, he's had a bad year, but it would be a waste to get rid of him already, i'd give him atleast one more season to see if he can make the break and if he can't, sell him then.

On possible departures: I sure hope Ljuboja, it seems we just can't get rid of the bastard  - after failing at HSV and Wolfsburg, i'm not sure where we can lose him now. But hopefully we'll find a way.
Farnerud had a bit of a mixed season last year, was pretty dissappointing with occasional bright flashes. I said last year, like i'm saying with Marica now, that Farnerud should get another year to prove himself. He failed, and now I see no reason why we shouldn't sell him. Schaefer I obviously think we should sell, it would be the better for both parties. However, i'm hopefully optimistic that Gomez will stay, though it'll all boil down to how well he performs at the Euros I think. I don't see Basturk leaving and I don't buy the rumours that Gentner may sign permanently with Wolfsburg.
As for possible signings, I would most likey to see these guys sign for us:
- Lehmann(Frey would be even better but is practically impossible imo.)
And
-Klasnic/Voronin(Pantelic would also be good but I just don't see it happening).

I think he's worth a lot more than 1.5M. But I guess KSC would offer 1.5M because that is exactly what BVB paid them for Hajnal.....

thanks for the update on the Stuttgart Stadium. Also, thanks to you guys for your analysis of the games. I'm living in the US but have lived in Stuttgart and was there for the 06/07 season. It is nice to hear from people who are able to watch the games.

Yesterday I watched the U21 Germany vs Denmark game (unfortunately only the first half) and the commentator said that Beck was about to go to Hoffenheim. Would be a shame.

HEre's what Sportbild says (http://www.sportbild.de/sportbild/fussball/vereine/stuttgart/news.html?9299300000)
In short, Hoppenheim wants Beck and is willing to pay 1.5 million €.
Heldt said that he wants 3.5 million €.
Hopefully he sticks with that. We're really in no need to sell Beck and if we do so, at least get the price he's worth.
I mean this season he was a semi regular (19 Bundesliga games) in the team of the defending German champion, fighting with a Mexican NT player for the starting spot. He's a regular at the German U21 NT with a lot of potential and has a long term contract with Stuttgart.
I think even 3.5 million € would be the absolute lowest I'd accept.
There were rumors during the winter that Moscow wanted to buy him for 5 million and Stuttgart refused. Don't know if that's true, but it shows what some people think he's worth. Bremen paid 3.5 million for Boenisch and Beck is no worse (rather better actually).

I think all that means is: "We don't want to sell him, but if you offer stupid money, we won't say no."
There were rumors during the winter that Moscow wanted to buy him for 5 million and Stuttgart refused. Don't know if that's true, but it shows what some people think he's worth.
Well, if the rumor isn't true, which I believe it isn't, doesn't that mean that someone is lying about what THEY think he's worth?? :o
Bremen paid 3.5 million for Boenisch and Beck is no worse (rather better actually).
Bremen has been overpaying (not crazy overpaying, but overpaying nonetheless) for average players in the past season or two. Seems they adopted the old BVB philosophy of "More expensive is better."
We see where that got BVB.....
And I don't think your statement is true, but that's subjective.
