There is a new group of supporters in town. Frank Castle's Brigade or the FCB. It is a bit of a break from the rcb. Free membership to all, but items may be purchased if desired. ALL are welcome and encouraged to join as the more the merrier. Website is under construction. We look forward to working with the other supporters groups and the FO to maximize the football experience in SLC.
Interested parties can make contact at bobroberts23@yahoo.com or here on big soccer.

Where in the stadium do you intend to be sitting/standing?

As of now, where ever we feel like it. In the future it would be nice to have a section 8 style section for all supporters groups to sit together. This has really come together in the last month or so, so there is no co-ordination of season tickets. Any suggestions would be welcomed and greatly appreciated. We are at roughly 15 members right now, but expect to grow vastly due to the fact that it is free to join.
Also, any suggestions on the best place to purchase scarves. I have three bids but if anyone knows the least expensive route that retains quality I would appreciate pointing me in the right direction.
Thanks

I'm excited to see another RSL Supporters group coming into being. Feel free to sit by me. I'm a Loyalist (section E32), but before that I'm an RSL Supporter, and I want our team to have the best possible support. I feel that the only way that can happen is if we unite our voices. I know there has been all sorts of strife in the past, but I hope that soon we can all put it behind us and move on. So you're all invited to sit by us.

I've been dreaming of that for a couple of years. It looks like when the new stadium hits, the FO plans on making us all sit together whether we like it or not, and I LOVE that idea. Like I said, uniting is what RSL needs most. How can we make any noise when we're all spread out?
I think it's great that you're starting another SG. I'd love to see 15 or even 50 supporters groups. Just get four guys (or girls) together who like to make noise and voila, supporters group. Let's get it going on!
I don't know much about scarves, but just a word of advice as you're starting out: try to keep the goading of your former supporter's group to a minimum. Online flame wars only create hard feelings, and sometimes even cause real fights. I'm speaking from experience here. If you really want to have a section 8 style section, be sure that people will want to stand by you. Let the last two years be a testament to you of how crappy things can get when the fans fight among themselves.
Good luck in your new venture. I can't wait to see you bring your enthusiasm.

Back in early 2005, we had a hell of a lot of us in sections 32 and 33 making noise and were very noticable and this in turn attracted newcomers to come join in with us. There were some regrettable incidents and confrontations mid-season that broke us apart and now we have a few smaller sections of supporters spread around the place. You add in the fact that we have the samba drummers blasting away throughout the game in the south stands, and I think that it is difficult for fans and possibly players to really hear the smaller groups.
Down in section 32, we get the same group of the same people for most games, and few people even seem to notice us or come to join.
I hope that all the supporters can put aside their differences and hurt feelings and get back on the same page. We are all RSL fans and will best support the team by being together. I bear no ill will towards anyone in any of groups for what anyone has said or done over the years. If someone has said or done something to offend you, then turn the other cheek and GET OVER IT!
Certainly we should have our own groups of people we are comfortable with, but I think those sections should be right next to each other in the new stadium. Some of the best supporter sections are Chicago and DC United where large sections of passionate fans all sit on the same side or end of the stadium and these sections are broken down into smaller groups.
And it certainly will be easier for the FO to try to help address the problems of casual fans unknowingly buying tickets right in the middle of a support group if there is one large designated section for standing chanting singing fans, then several smaller ones spread all over the place.
Hope to see a lot of the support groups represented at Wesnesday night's meeting. If we do this right, we can all have some great times together and help the team thrive in the coming years.
GO RSL!

I was a Loyalist for the first two seasons and in the RCB for the last one. I hope the FCB can be the glue to start holding us together.

We bought season tickets for the first time last year (E30, Row 1, Seats 3-4). This is right next to the Loyalists section. They are the "loudest" group, but that isn't saying. We would join in all the chants. It's embarassing, our "fan" section is the worst.
Does anyone think the players, coaches or FO care who got mad at who? NO!
I'll be cheering on March 29th section E30 will you?

Did you listen to that AYL podcast from a few weeks ago? I think it was Kris Katseanes that was the guest. If you haven't, check it out. There's some good info on that.

No, info on what they're planning to do with the Supporters in the new stadium, specifically, they plan on us all occupying one section.

The team is going to set aside 2 sections in the SE corner for all the supporter groups to share. The team feels it is best to have one loud group rather than a number of smaller ones. Members from the various support groups who were there seemed for the most part to be OK with it.
I was at the stadium last night (you have GOT to tour it as when you are standing inside you really get a feel for what a great venue it will be that pictures don't capture) and there should be plenty of space for the various groups to all have their 'space' and yet we'll be close enough to often have a single united voice in the more common chants (R clap S clap L clap clap clap for example)
I suppose if anyone still has misgivings about sitting there, then they are of course free to purchase seats anywhere they care to, but of course then they can be subject to complaints from the more casual fans who prefer a more quiet setting and prefer to sit.
Might want to take a look at a few of the threads on the main board for more info.

As you'd expect........but I still don't like the future of this arrangement. Goodwill and understanding may be there over the summer, and maybe even for the first game or two in the new stadium. But eventually those issues which caused the divide between the Loyalists and RCB will surface again because the issues have never been addressed.
I keep hearing people say "well, there are two supporters' groups at [insert MLS team here] who sit together and they make it work." But there's a difference: Unlike other teams, the disagreements in this case go much deeper and are morality-based. It's hard to get people to compromise when it comes to their own views of what is right or wrong. Yes, Barra Brava and the Screaming Eagles disagree on some things, but whether or not swearing is OK is not one of those things. Honestly I think you've got a better chance at peace in the Middle East than a happy coexistence of the Loyalists and RCB.
RSL, if you're reading, please don't do this. You have options. Put each group behind the two goals. Stick the Loyalists in the family seating corner and give the RCB's the other corner. Anything but what you've proposed. It's going to blow up in your face just like it did last time.

Hell just put the FCB between em and they can both focus on fighting with us. Then maybe there can be peace.

I really don't think the team cares too much if it "blows up in their face", the team wants to keep the supporters in one section and away from other fans.
People, lets be honest, the supporter groups add atmosphere but they can also be annoying. The team is doing the right thing by keeping the groups in one section and keeping them away from the common fan. And it's the common fans who are going to eventually fill up the stadium, not supporter groups.
Thus they are trying to keep the common fan happy and un-annoyed.
