Another item coming soon. If you've looked out at the Wizards Hillcrest blog, you will have seen the Auction for the stadium player posters.
Now, here is your chance to own a piece of Arrowhead, Wizards & Cauldron history:

This is one of the posters that adorned a pillar at the top of the Cauldron in 2007. The dimensions and condition are identical to the player posters. We will have the auction for this set up soon on the Cauldron web site, so be thinking about what you would be willing to spend to add this to your decor!
Proceeds from this Auction will go to future Cauldron activities.

I'm kinda shocked you don't get something like 1 free car bomb for every 2 glasses purchased.
FRYE!

Unfortunately, Kansas beverage laws prohibit any promotion of this kind, just as they prohibit any kind of time-specific discount -- i.e. happy hours...

If you think they're bad now, you should have been around back in the late 70's. What Kansas has now is light years more liberal than what they used to have.

We hope to have them on the kccauldron site by this weekend. They can be purchased there (with additional shipping costs) for those who can't make it to the tailgates. Otherwise, if you are in the kc area, and just have to have one immediately, we can probably work something out.

Well there goes my genius marketing idea to sell more glasses. Stupid laws.

At least you can buy on sunday's now, you still can't do that in Indiana, it sucks. I understand though they're a bit slow they just got around to figuring out daylight savings here so maybe figuring out liquor sales on sunday is next.

you dont sell the alcohol you sell the glasses it comes in, or you sell the right to hold onto the full bottle for a few seconds (4 i think);)

Story time!
I was in Kansas for my cousins confirmation on the Saturday before Easter last year. After the confirmation they had a little dinner and stuff, and then afterwards I was going to spend the night at her apartment. Her fiance and I went out to HyVee to pick up some beer, and we went up to check it out. There was no employees around (lazy asses) so we had to go look for someone to check us out. About 5 minutes later we finally found a guy to ring us up, and he went to the register and it was apparently locked or something. He had to call another guy to come up and unlock it for him so he could ring us up. His supervisor or whatever came up and got him all ready to go, and he finally take our beer and scans it. He looks at the screen after he tries to scan it, looks back at us, and says "Uh, it won't let me sell it to you, it's Sunday." We look at each other and say, uh, no it's no, it's Saturday." He looks at it again, and says "Actually, it's exactly 12:00am. It's been Sunday for about 32 seconds now." Jackasses made us wait 15 minutes to ring up alcohol and then told us they can't cuz it was Sunday. I've never been more upset with customer service in my life.

OK.....so now, everyone needs to realize why this bid has been made. I want that banner in my man cave.
You see, the Cauldron is near and dear to my heart. I have given my blood, sweat and tears to this section for 8 years. I have traveled far and wide to support our team. I have confronted 16 year olds trying to steal Spoon's banner. I have been drug out of the stadium by my shirt for telling a security guard to go eat a donut and leave us alone. I was THERE in Milwaukee (if you saw Mike "warming up" with the sideline official, please raise your glass). I hit on Kerry in the bar in Columbus, when we were also hanging out with the Greneda national team staffers. I almost got shot because "someone" called a gangster an asshole. I did a carbomb with Balboa. I drank a beer pumped by the owner of our team.
I have laid drunk in the parking lot of Arrowhead crying because our season was over. I have set in the stands at HDC crying, because we lost the Cup. I have stood in a hotel room crying...(Ok, there's a pattern here that needs to stop, but everyone who was there knows that what the Cauldron looked like in 2007 was the exact reason I was crying in 2004).
BUT, the number one reason that this banner is mine: You see the ass on the guy wearing the Kerry jersey in the front row? That's MINE. :)

Quick update on the Cauldron Banner. It will soon (this Friday afternoon) be signed by most, if not all, of the current team and coaches.
Sounds like the bidding is starting at $100, courtesy of Mr. Cunningham.
