Look at the size of the city of monchenladbach and what this club has accomplished, both in germany and also abroad in europe....your answer is right there my friend

No team in germany has done so much with so little...Borussia Monchengladbach is some sort of mystical magic you either feel it or you dont...IMO its really hard to explain(with stats, numbers and charts) and put it to words...i get goosebumps everytime i hear its name :)

I do understand the situation with the ULTRAS..I guess i was trying to point out such fan-group with such regulations...should know better how to control the key to their banner/flag room...obviously they didnt understand how to secure and protect the key to that room...unless more than a dozen people have had the key..anyway am not sure how these gropus and organizations work..but in general it shouldnt be difficult to somehow get to the bottom of it..or next time have 2-3 peeps only in control of the room and its key so in case something goes wrong they know who should be held accountable.

From what I've heard, the catering personnel had a key as well ... since they used to store their stuff in the same room with the UMG & Fanprojekt. It seems that the Ultras Köln knew about this, so a few guys apparently dressed up like UMG members and managed to get the key from the catering staff after showing a faked Ultras license. Don't ask me how they managed to get that faked license ... at least they seem to have had some insider knowledge.

That's the version I've heard (hard to imagine for outsiders).

The disgust in MG is so huge because 2 large "Fanprojekt" flags & the cash register of € 2,500 had been stolen as well by those idiots ... and cause almost the half stadium in Cologne was chanting "Wir wollen die Fahne sehen" ("we want to see the flag/banner"), what means that they were accepting & even approving the theft! And then the shocking behaviour of many posters in the official FC forum ... combined with the bitterness about the fact that the provocation (and stupid reaction from a few of our ex-Ultras) costed us the victory in the end. There's also a big disappointment because the Fanprojekt Köln & the security forces didn't prevent the "Wilde Horde" from taking the stolen flags & banner to the Südkurve ... although it was promised to the Fanprojekt Mönchengladbach in order to avoid any trouble.

It's well known that there's many idiots among the Köln fanship ... but after this whole story & provocation during the derby, their reputation surely suffered even more! I feel really sorry for the reasonable & fair Cologne fans (which hopefully still represent the majority).

Many moderate Gladbach fans wanted us to get promoted together with Köln in order to have a 1st league derby next season ... but now you can read only hateful comments towards Cologne in the official BMG forum.

It's really a shame what happened due to some morons ... and I fear that much time has to pass until these happenings will be forgotten.

As much as i respect tradition and standing by your code...but to call it quits is worse, anyway am not sure how much of a help ULTRAS have been thru the years and what do they bring to the table:eek: but since they are gladbach fans i sure hope they can re-group and come back with more experience!

The Ultras group is a pretty new element of the BL support (most of them were founded in the mid 90's) and has got the function of coordinating the vocal (=kapo) & visual (=choreos, flags) suppport in the fan curve. Without them, the atmosphere seems to suffer a lot in many stadiums...

hey guys a question, i read about the team on wiki and it says ur one of the best supported clubs in germany, so i wanna know in terms of fanbase and history ur like number what in germany??

What exactly do you mean by "fanbase" & "history"? We are the Nr. 5 or 6 (not 100% sure) regarding the club membership (there's lots of Gladbach fans without membership all around the country, though) and the Nr. 2 concerning the number of BL championships.

If you want to get detailed info about the club and its history, I recommend you the Italian wikipedia version (I think you understand this language pretty well):

I don't think that Inter has got a larger fanbase than Milan...

I'd say we are among the top 5 in Germany. 8 years ago, there was a survey telling that we have the 2nd most sympathizers after Bayern.

hope more israelies go to ur club!!

If you know some good players, please tell me! ;)

Buona notte.

If you know some good players, please tell me! ;).

sure here are my top young players, a forward called Itay Shechter he's pure class the most promising young player of israel, Shlomi Arbeitman and Omer Peretz great forwards with a great future, a midfielder called Maor Buzaglo its like a young yossi benayoun, sometimes he is used as a forward because haves a great sence of scoring, Omer Buksenboim he's like 24 but he's an amazing player is almost sure his team will go down to the lower league, i hope my team maccabi buys him, defenders Zeev Haimovich and Dekel Keinan, our next generation of centrals they are great, and Tom Almadon a great goalkeeper but he is benched cause he plays for the same team as Nir Davidovitch who's usually the starter in our NT, huuummm other great players are Idan Srur, Lior Rafaelov, Maor Melickson, they would be a great adquisition to any team mostly because in european standars they are cheap, most of the players had rumours of going to euro teams, but the military service in israel always screw things up!!

I've seen him during the U21 match "Israel vs Germany" and he really impressed me!

If I was Christian Ziege (Borussia's club manager), I'd sign him! ;)

But firstly let's hope that Roberto Colautti finally gets top fit (he was injured for almost the whole season)!

Have a nice day.

I agree..lets see if roberto will ever live - up to our expectation..enough decoration of our bench with players that are not utilized(regardless of the reason)

I like to see more german talent from our very own under 21 squad...build a solid foundation for 6-7 years !

Seems like we have a few quality players in our under-21..will be great to re-cycle :D GLADBACH blood :Din the teams structure:D

"We're difficult to beat"

The press conference ahead of the promotion clash with fifth-placed Greuther Fürth was over in no time. For the situation going into the game is clear.

Ansetzen zum Schlussspurt

Am Sonntag gegen Greuther Fürth will die Borussia den nächsten Schritt in Richtung Wiederaufstieg machen. Gleichzeitig soll ein Mitkonkurrent abgeschüttelt werden.

I'm really curious whether the former Fürth skipper Thomas Kleine will be replacing the suspended Roel Brouwers against his former team ... or whether Jos will prefer Gohouri & Daems.

The Greuther Fürth manager Bruno Labbadia is confident as well (despite the fact that 3 of his 4 strikers are out for the game):

I expect to enjoy a good top match (Nr. 1 against Nr. 5), since both teams play an offensive football style and as both will try to win after the favourable results from tonight (Mainz lost, Köln with a draw). Borussia could make a huge step towards the 1th league with a win ... but I'm sure it won't be easy to beat Fürth, since they are the 3rd best away team and will fight for their last promotion chance! I know the strength and weak points of this young Fürth team very well (I'm attending many of their home games), but I won't be mean to Bruno and tell them to Jos...;)

It's a "special" game for me, since I'll travel together with Fürth & Gladbach fans to Borussia-Park this time ... and I'm sure that I will be enjoying it (although both teams need the 3 points)! :) I'll try to take a view nice pics for you, Naz.

Gute N8

PS: It should be a "special" game for Sascha Rösler & Thomas Kleine (both played together in Fürth some years ago) as well as for the Fürth skipper Daniel Felgenhauer (moved from Fürth to Borussia in 2001). :-)

Both, Marko Marin & Stephan Schröck, are wingers and great technicians & splendid dribblers. Nearby they are my fav players. :-)
Hopefully, both youngsters will be in the starting line-up.

YOU MADE MY DAY MY FRIEND...BRING THEM ON..OUR YOUNG HUNGRY TALENTS....Only thing that Marin lacks IMO..is some physical strength (perhaps during off-season he can bulk up a little) then we have a monster on the pitch..i think that would be the icing on the cake for Marko:)

Me too. :-) Just 2 more wins out of the last 6 games ... and we're back where we belong!

The whole stadium singing "2. Liga, nie mehr, nie mehr", really gave me the creeps!

too bad i could not watch the game:mad:

You missed a great game with many chances on both sides, Naz! The main difference was the fact that Borussia managed to convert 3 of its chances, whereas Fürth missed a few top scoring opportunities (they hit the bar/post for 3 times).

What a day for Marko Marin (he scored his first 2 league goals and was superb once again) and what sensational first 2 goals from Marko & Olli! :)
The atmosphere was impressing (finally!) and the weather absolutely perfect! Nearby I had a nice time with a few Fürth & Gladbach friends at the "Fanhaus" (where we met the "Fanprojekt" chairman "Tower" Weinmann)...

I've taken 100 great pics and just saved them on my pc. Will try to upload them as soon as possible for you, Naz. I'm sure there's one you'll appreciate very much. :-)

PS: Pity that the attendance was "only" 37,000. Pretty disappointing that just about 350-400 Fürth fans made the far trip to Borussia-Park...
