How much is BMG paying Friend to play soccer? :)

To be honest, I really don't know. However, it's sure that Rob will earn more money after extending his contract in MG!

Lets hope we would see a GOOD-DOSE of Roberto today!

He will come in after 70 minutes and score...;)

Derby time in Cologne

Christoph Daum took his 1. FC Köln players bowling to promote team spirit ahead of Monday's clash with league leaders Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Quotation from Christoph Daum:

"the question is, whether Gladbach will enjoy the same kind of luck they've had so often recently. The luck factor, which hasn't been on our side so far, is extremely important."

What drugs did he take again? I remember a lot more games when Köln was pretty lucky...

Let's hope for a great derby and a good result for us! I'd be content with a draw. We lost both games at Rhein-Energie-Stadion in the past, so it's time to get something there (even though it's surely gonna be very tough)...;)

A beautiful game that turned BULL-SHIT thnx to the incompitant referee!
There was no foul whatsoever..so basically the ref handed KOLN the equalizer!

God bless marko marin...that guy worked his tail-off and was all over the field, and in the last seconds roberto could have scored the 2nd goal for us!

Am not sure how referess get away with such terrible performance..specially in germany:mad:

A beautiful game that turned BULL-SHIT thnx to the incompitant referee!

It was a beautiful game before the interval, but not in the 2nd half. We totally controlled the match after the 1:0, but were simply too stupid to play our counter-attacks better and go for the 2nd goal (there were enough chances). Well, then you often get punished in the end...

I think the referee did a pretty good job until the last scene, which wasn't easy to judge for him. It was the linesman's job to see that it wasn't a pk...

There was no foul whatsoever..so basically the ref handed KOLN the equalizer!

Well, it was a slight touch from Brouwers outside the box ... and Novakovic was clever enough to make the diver into the box.

What pisses me off even more, is the fact that we played 1:1 in such a situation! Where were Gohouri & Daems? Why didn't they help Brouwers (who is pretty slow)?

God bless marko marin...that guy worked his tail-off and was all over the field, and in the last seconds roberto could have scored the 2nd goal for us!

Marko was solid, but he can play a lot better (you should have seen him in Augsburg & Aachen) in my eyes! Too many passes didn't find the strikers, nearby I didn't see any dangerous crossball from him this time.

Am not sure how referess get away with such terrible performance..specially in germany:mad:

How I told you before, his performance wasn't that bad. It was only the wrong pk (decisive though), which is mainly the linesman's fault.

Although we lost 2 points in the end, I'm content with the draw and the way how we contolled Köln in their own stadium. I'm not so happy how we played our counter-attacks after the interval (there was soooo much space in their midfield) and how we wasted a few good chances, though.

We are still 6 points ahead of spot 4, so we surely can live a lot better with 1 point as it is the case for Köln!

Zwei verlorene Punkte

In der Nachspielzeit kassierte Borussia in Köln noch das 1:1. Nach einem Rösler-Tor bekamen die Kölner einen Elfmeter zugesprochen, der nie und nimmer einer war.

Btw: I was hoping that the Köln Ultras would be so clever not to provoke our ex-Ultras by presenting the stolen UMG banner ... but guess what happened a few minutes before the end ... and how some "die-hards" among our fans reacted.

If Rösler & Neuville didn't run to our section in order to cool down the emotions, there could have happened something we don't want to see in German stadiums...

I've never experienced any stupid actions with Gladbach fans in the past, but this time I really feared that our ex-Ultras could cause us a huge damage and abandon the match (that's exactly what the Cologne Ultras obviously intended)! :( How did they manage to take those flares into the stadium (the same happened in Frankfurt on Saturday)?

I have said this before and i will say it again, for borussia its not about being clear 6 points and moving to the top-flight,we should simply move our game up a notch or two if we want to have some sort of impact in the future...i didnt like the 2nd half either..specially when koln seemed tired and almost given up the result!

We still lack a strong general in our mid-field..we just move along the flanks and use alot of long balls...this would not survive for long neither would it help any team thats aiming for a solid spot in "EUROPE" and thats why we lose the result each time...we just leave it to the stars and moon and sky and hope for the clock to stop..instead of putting it away in style!

Am not sure if this is all our coach can do and designed for now..or we have plans for future...mid-field was mostly wide open and nothing was being initiated from the center:mad:

That penalty was really really weak performance on our part, and you are right..it wasent a tough ball for our defense to get involved and clear it..shame to not have collected all 3 points! i really think we need one or two strong players that are comfortable in the mid-field because this style of game will sooner or later get exposed by your opponents and to work on counter-attacks and then defend the result in hopes of the clock to stop and also rely on long balls all the time..is not a good scheme at all!
The sudkurve drama was interesting..specially when rosler jumped in the crowd..i guess neuville was also there!
Anyway i was lucky to have been home and not work today and watch the game LIVE.....but them last 4 minutes ruined for me

2 quality fans....speaks volumes my friend..its not about quantity,am still amazed over the intense stadium atmosphere it was CRAZY! no team has such strong fan-base...funny thing the entire game i was praising the referee and how he has allowed a physical game without ruing it...then it all crumbled down by that penalty;(

I think we are in huge demand for some mid-field strategy and a few players that can switch from offense to defense with strong ball control/distribution in the center..i think it should be the first thing to look into during transfer period ! we just cant continue with this style of game...specially in the bundesliga!

Furth is no easy game either...but every week i hope to see some major surprise regarding our tactics on the field..but its all the same old story:mad:

He he. ;)

Our 7,000 fans were really great (did you hear those loud "Cologne, Cologne, die Scheiße vom Dom" chants after the Köln Ultras presented & destroyed the huge UMG banner? :-). Unfortunately our away support is always better than the support at Borussia-Park...

C'mon Naz, I think we played a good football (I saw long balls only from the hosts). We just didn't manage to find the decisive passing to the strikers.
Nevertheless, we had enough chances to score the 2:0 or 3:0. Even in numerical inferiority, we had the big chance to score the last-second winner...

You are right that we need to strengthen the central midfield after promotion ... and I'm pretty sure that Ziege will invest the money wisely! :-)

Furth is no easy game either...

That's true, especially as Fürth is fighting for its last promotion chance.

My local team is playing one of the most beautiful football styles in the league (always offensive, but they often have problems against teams which defend with 10 men), but they have 3 out of 4 strikers injured & suspended for next Sunday.

Btw: I'll be at Borussia-Park for the 1st time since 1,5 years. :)

but every week i hope to see some major surprise regarding our tactics on the field..but its all the same old story:mad:

C'mon Naz, how many games did you watch this season? Of course there had been a few poor games ... but I've also seen a few very good matches from our guys! We don't lead the table since matchday 8 by chance...

I don't think we played poorly in Cologne. They had to win the game ... and we totally controlled them after the 1:0 and played the clearly better football (our passing was pretty good, whereas they played only long balls to McKenny & Novakovic) in my eyes!

I think you are way too critical sometimes, my friend! :-)

Have a nice day.

We played good i agree...but i just sense we re not hungry enough to really force massive pressure and really SEAL-THE -DEAL, yes i may be critical but please consider the fact that i grew up with borussia being a power house..i undertsand those days are long gone...but we are still talking gladbach here with perhaps enough tradition to bring those days back..so ya i cant forget what i have been accustomed to thru the years so i always expect more!

I really hope you are right and some great signings will come thru for our mid-field during the summer break,it would be refreshing to enjoy a strong smooth transition to the top flight and start enjoying our new beautiful stadium with more authority....i cant wait to see gladbach back in EUROPE!
BTW what kind of dedicated fan will lose its BANNER/FLAG specially something this huge??? you have a point if that fiasco had not happend in the sudkurve who knows perhaps the game would have continued and ended in our favour:mad:

Ok, I do understand. ;)

BTW what kind of dedicated fan will lose its BANNER/FLAG specially something this huge???

Didn't you get the whole story about the stolen flag "affair", Naz? We've already discussed it even in this thread...

2 persons from the Ultras Cologne, who had attended our home game against St.Pauli, managed to get the key for the room where the UMG had stored their huge banner (they obviously presented a faked Ultras pass to the stadium personnell, so they were taken for members of the UMG). After this theft, the UMG had to disband (due to the Ultras codex).

Therefore the whole trouble...

Btw: Here's an interview with our Dutchman Roul Brouwers (who was sent off and caused the pk in the derby):

And the player ratings from "torfabrik":

I don't agree with it, though.

Here's my rating:

Heimeroth 2
Levels 2
Brouwers 3
Daems 2,5
Voigt 2,5
Pauuwe 2,5
Ndjeng 3,5
Marin 3
Rösler 2,5
Friend 3,5
Neuville 3

I do understand the situation with the ULTRAS..I guess i was trying to point out such fan-group with such regulations...should know better how to control the key to their banner/flag room...obviously they didnt understand how to secure and protect the key to that room...unless more than a dozen people have had the key..anyway am not sure how these gropus and organizations work..but in general it shouldnt be difficult to somehow get to the bottom of it..or next time have 2-3 peeps only in control of the room and its key so in case something goes wrong they know who should be held accountable:rolleyes:

As much as i respect tradition and standing by your code...but to call it quits is worse, anyway am not sure how much of a help ULTRAS have been thru the years and what do they bring to the table:eek: but since they are gladbach fans i sure hope they can re-group and come back with more experience!
