The team played well today. It was badluck and nothing else. Blaming the strikers? You can't be serious.

LGW, i agree, that we had much bad,
but they had it in whole 2008.

To have it in so many matches,
itŽs a quality aspect.

(I know most of our strikers can play much better,
but they must do it)

edit:
I make a break no and eat some fastfood,
beer alone doesnŽt help. See you later. ;)

And you could argue about the tactics, too.

No you can't argue about the tactics. There was only correct choice tonight: Posession Posession Posession!

Well, can't really blame anyone, all the German luck went to Neuer and Schalke. What goes away must come back.

Was a tale of 2 goalkeepers if you ask me. :) Thats the main difference for me, and our defensive tactics.

lgw, i am not saying diego shouldn't have scored... i'm just saying there are surely other players that can score too. and also bad luck happens a few times, not consistantly through the year... then there is a problem with the quality of play (like EE said)

The tactics were perfect i thought. We controlled the whole game, got naldo and merte to play offensive without risking too much. But we had enough good chances to win this. Although the intensity slowed a little bit after we scored.

anyway i'll get over it...

We play stupid after the 1-0

I agree with this. You've put them under big pressure, but mostly without a real plan! Attack after attack, corner kick after corner kick ... but no real chances, except for Sanogo's shot off the bar. The defence was solid this time, but your attack simply too harmless against the expected well-organised Rangers defence. Somehow it's simply incredible to see you drop out after the ball possession you had in both games and the corner kick & shooting statistic from tonight ... but to be honest, your guys have to blame themselves! Great fight and a real powerplay in the last 10 minutes ... but your inefficiency & the terrible mistakes from Wiese at Ibrox costed you the 1/4 final!

Strikers to blame???? Did you guys actually watched the game??

Rangers play 13 people in defense! look at the game statistics!!
Werder Bremen - Glasgow Rangers

42 (shots on goal) 4
18 (corner kicks) 2

and it doesnt matter who scored... Heck, I wouldnt be surprised if Tim Wiese scored on that game!!

Good game Werder... you presented a fantastic German game!
Hopefully Bayern gets Rangers tomorrow in the draw... just to show them a lesson

So I return and check the final results to see that it ended the same score as when I left. BUMMER :(. I'm surprised that we kept a clean sheet but even more surprised we only scored ONE goal. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with luck or the quality of our strikers. But really, can something be done here?

Hugely unlucky on Sanogo. Off the keeper to the crossbar and out from only about 2 yards. Should have put it away, and was one of those where you knew the game was over. :(

Almost looked like a good post except for the last sentences. Man Werder is not Germany and Bayern even less. I hate this "representing Germany"-bogus. If Rangers drew Bayern pretty much every Werder fan would want Rangers to prevail. And rightfully so.

I beg to differ...In European games all German clubs rely on each other or we can forget having a decent Uefa-ranking.

So while IŽd love to see Bayern humiliated in the bundesliga I will support them against say a dutch team...I will feel a bit unclean afterwards though :p

Bring on Bayern! That is the draw I really want. We owe them one for 1999 when we played them off the pitch and they won 1 - 0. Plus Kahn effectively ended Mol's career. I'll never forgive him for that!

I find that a strange concept. I will never ever support Celtic or Aberdeen in Europe. I could not care less that they are Scottish teams.

Well if they rely so much on each other how about Bayern stops weakening german top teams? Werder might have had use for Jan Schlaudraff yesterday. Everybody knows that story.

I don't think you understand. You would never get a self-respecting Rangers fan supporting Celtic or Aberdeen in Europe.

Also on last night, the Europeans, Messi and some Werder fans have got to realise there is more to football than silky skills, pings from 30 yards, and so-called 'beautfiul football'.

Defending is much as an art at attacking, and equally, if not more, important than attacking. We are outstanding at defending, but opposing fans just want to see us attack and concede. We played out tactics, and played to our strengths perfectly last night.

I'm not being a bad winner here, but we deserved to go through regardless of the 2 howlers by Wiese in the first leg. You may have more flair, skilled players than us, but we're the better team.

Having a formation with 6 defenders in not an art. It is a tactic, but defintelty not an art!
