CL Quarters - Who's next?

Eight teams left, 5 of which went into the First Knockout Round as the #2 seeds (2nd place in groups) - Arsenal, Schalke, Roma, Liverpool and Fenerbache of Turkey. Barca, Chelski and the Mancs make up the rest of the quarterfinalists. So my question is: who do you want in the next round? I look at it from the perspective of Arsenal advancing as far as possible, but I would also like to see some sweet revenge.

I would really like to meet up with Fenerbache or Barca. Bache was taken to the limit by Sevilla, and just managed to escaped. Although we lost at Sevilla, we put out a second choice squad and Cesc exited at the interval with an injury. This time all hands will (hopefully) be available, with the obvious exception of Eduardo. Bache is 3rd in the Turkish Super Liga, trailing ousted Besiktas by 1 point. On class alone we should be able to take this tie.

Barca, however, is ripe for the picking. Messi will be out with the quad injury, they have lost their last two on the bounce to Villarreal and Athletico, and look to have lost La Liga, being 8 points behind Real. This is the time to be drawn against them and I'm personally pulling for this tie.

Just for the sake of entertainment, I'm praying that we don't get drawn against another English team. Last year's Chelsea/Liverpool tie are three hours I will never get back in my life.

I want Barca for several reasons:
1. We only really seem to try if its an epic encounter.
2.You have to beat the best if you want to win, the year we got to the final we went up against villareal (good at the time), real and juve. Drawing the easiest teams like chelsea does is no guarantee of success.
3. We need to stick it to the old el capitan
4. Payback for the final

We will most likely draw chelsea or utd though. I'll take anyone but the other english teams, but statistically one of us has to draw another one of us.

The only reason I don't have Barca as my #1 is that the CL Quarters will be right in the middle of our hard run, so I would rather save them for the semis or final. I really don't want to draw an English team, although I think now would would be the perfect time to get revenge on Chelski for 4 years ago :mad:.

Ill take Schalke and then Barca. I dont think Fener is going to be as easy as some people say. They took down a good Sevilla side and playing in Turkey is a daunting away trip, probably even more so then Milan away. Any english side after this considering there are 4 of them.

I want to play Man Utd or Liverpool the most. Given that we'd have to play either of these teams in the Premiership during the two game series, it'd make fascinating political theater, esp with Man Utd, to see the teams try to rest up during the Premiership game.

Other than that, Barca while Messi is out, but he's going to be out for the next 6 weeks, or Roma because they're playnig the best right now.

I really want us to get barca in a draw i still have a bad taste from the finals when we last played them... it would be great to knock them out in this round, also i do agree with you some you that the team seems to play better when they are underdogs...

Manutd will beat barca. In terms of having other teams get screwed over I'd much rather Chelsea-Manutd, Liverpool-Barca.
