I hooked up my tv to my computer, so I can watch internet tv, as well as saved movies, etc.

I have a lone s-video cord, and I hooked it up from my computer to my tv(Svid jack to Svid jack), and nothing happened.

Then I bought a cord with an S-Video and a speaker pin on one end, and RCA(Tricolor video audio cords, pretty standard) on the other end, and It worked, but with one small problem. It's black and white. Does anyone now how to connect it so that it's in color? Or if I need a different type of adapter or something? ANy info would be helpful, thanks.

What video card do you have? Have you consulted its manual? Usually s-video out has a few more steps than just plug and play.

I believe the card is Mobility Radeon 9200. The setup I have now is also through the S-Video jack, and it works except for that it's in black and white. And my S-video to S-Video doesn't do anything.

When I hook the hardware up, I go to display>settings>then I right click on the 2nd screen and attach it, and then I apply.

I did some more research, and I have a VGA output on my laptop as well(I use an HP Pavilion, zx5000 series), and I can buy a converter on EBay to convert it to RCA cables and I can plug that into my tv as well. If I had a newer HDTV, I believe I can plug it in directly from my VGA output directly to the tv without a converter, because newer tv's can read that, but since I have an older JVC from the 90's I'm gonna have to use a converter.

But the converter isn't cheap, and I don't even know if that solves my problem.

Any suggestions?
