Why does Grossmuller play? Besides the injuries, I think Sanchez would be better on the right side than this scrub!! I think he's even worse than Lovenkrands...
Because Rakitic is injured....

Well not really though, see us Spaniards see it this way. Barcelona comes from a pathetic little land called catalunya wich in their own words is a country between Spain and France. So in actuality barcelona is not Spain. Plus it would do no good for Spain to have a club like barcelona be associated with our country.
So as i stated all Spain is pulling for shalke. don't disappoint.

Ah, it's great to see that knowledgable fans still exist here on Big Soccer.
True supporters of the LFP want Barcelona and Getafe to continue to do La Liga proud in Europe since the rest failed so miserably.
I'm sure the vast majority of Bundesliga fans (outside the Schwarzgelben) feel the same towards Schalke and the Bundesliga.
As a Cologne fan myself, I've been rooting for all German clubs throughout the competition and I'd have been still pulling for Schalke had they been drawn against any other team beside Barça. Indeed, should Die Königsblauen advance, I'll be hoping they go on to lift the trophy.
As for now, I can only hope that Leverkusen and Bayern bring European glory back to the Bundesliga.
Looking forward to the chess match that is Schalke and Barcelona. :)

"The Catalan titans have won only one of their last seven games."
So surely you can do this?;) Good luck.

Oh yeah well I got news for you buddy, your just mad cause Real Madrid is slipping to Valencia and Sevilla. Greetings and respect to the Shalke forum
I am a fan of Barcelona and I want to ask you in case you haven't heard central defender Milito and Mid/central defender Rafael Marquez is back and will play today, as Shalke fans do you see this as harder to break down Barcelonas defence?

I am no Schalke fan, (in fact I hate them) but I will say that it will depend on the strike force and who's playing in the creative midfield slots.
If Altintop/Lovenkrands sub and Grossmuller are playing, I think Barcelona will win easily. If Asamoah and Rakitic are playing, I think Schalke might have a shot.

Keep your heads up high guys, you outclassed Barcelona for 90 minutes. Despite going down you kept on pressing bravely and played quite well, and doing that without Jones. It's a shame you guys didn't get a goal and the referee missed two penalties for you as well.
It'll be very tough in the second leg but best of luck.

Surely not for 90 minutes, in the first half Barcelona was awesome for a bit (and/or Schalke fearful). The English co-commentator here was always complaining about how Slomka had failed to send his team out aggressively enough in the first half, and I have to agree. IMO it'll be good for Schalke if he leaves, I haven't seen many Schalke games this season but I do think I've seen some weird coaching taking effect. Just my two cents.

For a majority of the match Shalke was the better team.
And I think the absence of Jones was a reason why Shalke couldn't play aggressively enough. Ernst and Kobiashvilli were always deep, they started coming up later in the game but had to be cautious at the start. That left Kuranyi and Altintop without proper support. Pander did what he could, I thought he had a pretty good game, and Asamoah is not the type of player to beat Barcelona.
