{R} Schalke x Frankfurt golTV May 10 at half-time

That ball that Mahdivikia apparently headed off the line was, in fact, across the line, in my opinion (stopping the instant with freeze-frame).

Granted, it would be like impossible for the AR to run fast enough to be in position to see the play square on.

I think that - in spite of the friendship - every Nuremberg fan was hoping that Schalke wouldn't win this game today. ;)

Now we'll see a real "Endspiel" at Frankenstadion next weekend (both teams need a win)...

You guys better make that extra income count though. In other words, pivotal transfers to the team's progression to narrow the gap in the league and play more consistently in Europe.

That´s the idea I hope...it would suck if we just decided to hoard the money.

Mutu?...Well, not very likely

Riquelme is someone who our Brazilian contingent at Schalke would love to have in the team but I seriously doubt that he will move to Europe again. He didn´t like it in Spain and as for the Rührpott..

To be honest quite a few Schalkers would have preferred Nürnberg to be more laidback (i.e relegated) before the last game as well.

Rumour over here has it that Rutten wants to bring Engelaar and Douglas with him to Schalke. I hope to God it's not true.

Your guess is as good as mine I think.:D

You are the expert on Rutten, I have no idea about what players he likes to have around.

BTW..The is a rumour here in Germany that Klopp is considering a move to Twente, they are rather similar I think so it might not be a bad replacement for Rutten.

Wow, that would be cool. ;) Kloppo ist "Kult"! :-)

However, my local team Fürth will decide whether he'll be leaving Mainz or not.

True...The last game against Hoffy will decide it.

The thing about klopp is that despite being courted by BvB he seems rather reluctant to take such a step, BvB have broken coaches by the dozen the last years so it might be that Twente is more similar to Mainz..i.e less pressure, less interference from the club boss.

Yes that's the rumour over here too. It's between him and Koster - and I would hate us getting the latter!

Engelaar finished first in several footballer of the year things over here this season.

He'd get two positions in one, i.e. coach and director of football. I guess that's attractive for managers who like a position of real power. If we win the CL qualifying spot that'd probably make us an even more attractive option I reckon.

It's Youri Mulder who's been hinting at Engelaar joining Schalke btw so I fear there might be some truth to it. Were you looking for a central midfielder?

A creative playmaker would be welcome...I don´t know that much about Engelaar to be honest, is he not usually on the left?

That and a top class striker to partner Kuranyi are our main objectives this silly season.

On the teamsheet Engelaar's on the left but in reality he's got a free role, with El Ahmadi behind him in a more defensive role. A creative playmaker is exactly what he is. So now I'm really worried that he'll be joining your lot!

Riquelme isn't Brazilian, he's an argentine...big difference, but I would loooove to see him playing for Schalke. I think he would play well in the Bundesliga, but after his experiece at Barca and Valencia, I don't know if he would like coming back to Europe....shame really.

Well, I never said he was Brazilian but anyway it´s the Brazilian clique at Schalke that have put his name forward. It´s fairly obvious that we need some creative player to help break down stubborn defences...But I find it unlikely that he will turn up :(

Soo..we won against FCN and relegated a club we have an old fanfreundschaft with, sad but such things happen..I don´t wanna do it again though.

It would of course have felt better if we gained something by it but no, Bremen won their game and keep the Nr2 spot in the table..I can live with that, we got a better than average chance to survive the qualifying round.

But what I can´t stand is Radio Biefeld playing the old Schalke song "Blau und Weiss" now and talking about people in Biefeld and the team celebrating big style tonight as our win saved them from relegation...and that from a club that have orchestrated a number of campaigns against both Schalke and Dortmund fans in their area...I´d rather take their usual hostility than this..http://www.soccer24-7.com/forum/images/smilies/bluerolleyes.gif
I really dislike this arselicking when we do them a favour...

Confused countryfolks going from the NT game in Gelsenkirchen and you can add a fair number of frustrated RW-Essen fans fighting with the cops...:D

Very unlikely, we turned down a €18m bid from Fenerbahce last summer...

There have been rumours about him, we need a striking partner for Kuranyi and Farfan would fit the bill...nothing official yet though.
