Hey guys (this is Ian, by the way)--I haven't been on BS in a long while like an idiot, but with the season starting in three weeks, I need to get back into the swing of things!
Anywho, I sure hope there isn't a thread about this already, but, do we have any good Trujillo chants coming along?
Or anything else new, chant wise?

Nothing new player wise yet. Check through this thread for new chants.

Actually I think it's this thread now that I read through them more.

It's good to have a separate thread for new player chants. We need new stuff that's simple to roll out on opening day.
Are these really the only players left we have chants for right now? We've got work to do. I guess we also just say Jimmy Conrad, or Kevin Hartman and clap. If we're going to do something that overdone, I'd rather just say Jimmy's name like they do Timmay on South Park and at Everton.

That was copy/pasted from kccauldron.com. I like the sound of Boneyard, but the only connection is to the baseball team. Either would work.
maybe for Carlos Marinelli? - to Blowin' in the Wind
The answer my friend, is wearin' number 10.
The answer is wearin' number 10.

Not stupid, very good I think. What's everyone else think ? I'll add them to a new version of the chant/song page ...
As for Davy and the Boneyard/CAB... don't matter to me, we can update the site quickly... actually, it'doesn't have the most up-to-date yet.

I think the cadence sounds better with C.A.B. because you would have to use three full counts on 'The Boneyard', whereas 'the' is almost a grace note in "Davy Crockett".

American Folk Songs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:American_folk_songs) page. Thought of this when Jeff put up the "this land is your land" folk song.

I like it, my only thing is I'm not sure how well we can pull it off trying to have the whole Cauldron sing it in unison, but then again I questioned the Sealy chant the same way and that seems to have worked out.

I think that you could replace "heart of Kansas" with "Kansas City." Then take out "the" in front of Missouri. We would just have to old the first and second syllables in "City" and the second and third syllables in "Missouri." Or replace "the Missouri" with "tornado alley."

The problem is the end of the 2nd line of every stanza is supposed to rhyme with the end of the first.
The original goes
This land is your land, this land is my landFrom California to the New York Island
Kansas City is what I had first, but iI thought having that "an/ance" sound at the end was more important to the song.
At one point I had
This Chance is your Chance, this Chance is our Chance
From California to the east of Kansas
From the Redwood Forest to the Missouri
This Chance, he came for you and me.

New Banner RedBull games:
Our Claudio kicks your Claudio's ass.
If you guys need something for Chance Myers, there's a whole old ABBA tune that eerily works quite nicely that could get quite elaborite with harmony and melodies alike if you got that creative.
Underlying chant:
(take a chance, take a chance, take a chance-chance-chance)
(take a chance, take a chance, take a chance-chance-chance)
Verse over top:
If you use your mind.
In the CAB you'll find,
There's a man with speed
The one with the # 3
When he's at his very best.
I can tell no lies,
Representin' the KC crest
from his spot out wide.
Take a chance on speed..... Take a chance on 3....
wash, rinse, repeat for as long as you can be creative and not get all rainbow on it.
I think he's been wearing the number three in preseason no?

He'd actually been wearing number 7, but has switched to 3 so Claudio can have 7.

That's great - or we could do it for Clau - di - OHHHH. Especially if we can get everyone but one or 2 to be quiet on the last one and just say OHHHHH
One person says (to let everyone know it's coming)
Trujillo!
Everyone
Tru-hee-oh
Tru-hee-oh
A couple people
Tru - Hee
Everyone
OHHHHHHHHHHHHH
