Will this give us an increased transfer budget? How will the new stadium be affected? Are DIC going to persuade Hicks to leave too?

I wouldn't count this as good news as Hicks is still at the club, and now he's in full control. But I wouldn't say it's terrible either, at least DIC have got a foot in the door and one of the parasites has been shit out of the bowls of the club.

I suppose it comes down to we might not go the same way as Leeds as we do have some money in the club now. But there probably won't be much in the term of transfers as Hicks broke ass is the majority holder, and I don't know why DIC would invest their own money with only having a 49% stake.

So I guess it's a case of things haven't got any worse in my book. Though unfortunatly I could be wrong.

Actually, if you follow the rumour mill, Hicks and Rafa are getting on like a house on fire these days and the Dic-heads were gonna heave him, so perhaps 51-49 was rafas only hope. In which case we can only wish:

1) This brings complete financial stability and an end to the bickering nonsense.

2) Rafa is retained and signs a new 5 year contract

3) The transfer budget is increased to whatever-you-want rafa old pal levels, and further we buy every 14-18 year old on the planet as well.

4) they build the stadium yesterday based on the first set of plans.

5) They mail me a free set of seasons tickets and 60 round trip airfares for being such a good fan all these years.

Well since i was hoping for those first 4 things i thought number 5 wasnt too far a stretch.

1-4 is what we want and need. lets see what actually happens. On this evidence hicksa is very smart, gillett not quite as smart but still to profit nicely for attending a few meetings and games, and the Dic-heads are crazy. 49 points are you fcking stupid? hicks wont sell for 20 years untill he makes a billion in franchise appreciation no joke. imo.

becouse hes clearly not stupid at least in business terms, if the dust settles and hicks owns 51% i would look for him to repair the relationship with the fans over time. starting with the new rafa contract.

One would think that Hick's relationship with the fans is irreparable, but REALLY backing Rafa with a few key transfers, building the stadium on the first set of plans, and winning everything in sight may prove to be the tonic.

Blatter, in Scotland for a FIFA meeting, said he backs the fans who have been protesting in the hope of getting co-owners Hicks and George Gillett Jr to sell the club to Dubai International Capital.

"I like it," Blatter said of the fans' fervour for their club, adding that FIFA could do nothing to settle the issue but warning other clubs to be wary of similar takeovers.

Blatter also said soccer clubs should not be treated as a mere commodity.
