I forgot whose great idea this was.

The object is picking the greatest motion picture scenes.

I suggest the following caveat:

The scene you draft has to be available for viewing on youtube or some other site for all to see. It makes no sense for me to pick the lovemaking bus scene from Bunuel's Ascent to Heaven (surely one of the greatest scenes of all time) when none of you know what the hell I'm talking about. This way, everybody can have seen all scenes when it comes time to vote.

I agree with the youtube caveat but that is going to make this really really hard IMHO, but it should still be fun so I am in.

Please participate, and if you are late for some of the rounds, you are late. You might get a couple of minutes to swig a miller lite and spend five minutes on the computer.

May be ridiculous, but I am going to get alot out of it. I actually was thinking I wanted to figure out how to download all of the director draft, because I actually used that as a tool to see lots of movies that I would not have otherwise seen.

I mean, I checked out all of your directors from the directors draft and I have to admit, I did come up with two scenes that might make the first 10 rounds.....

I think we need some definitions on this as well. Although I hope it's a broad definition. When I think of scene literally I think of a place, but when I think of "movie scene" I think more of time - in otherwords, a continuous length of time wherein a certain action or activity takes place from the standpoint of the subject matter (a fight scene) or the filmaker (a tracking shot through multiple settings).

I'm mostly resisting for my own sanity. There's no way I'll be able to resist the temptation of constantly checking the thread if I'm actually involved in the draft as it's going on. I seriously have to be on 100% concentration for the next two weeks.

I'd love to join up but most of the scenes I have in mind, I don't think I can find on youtube. I'll give it a shot though.
