Let's keep it rolling. Might seem unthinkable that Keegan breaks his duck against us at home, but stranger things have happened, so let's come out firing like we did against Hammers. That said, I'm tempted to rest Nando with Inter just around the corner. But when a goal-scorer is hot...

Suspect no mash ( rest that leg), maybe no torres keep him safe. Could be heavy rotation actually, would Kewell Pennayoun Lucas be considered? Agger? Crouch?
Can we win with
Pepe
Arbs skrt agger risse
alonso lucas
pennant kuyt kewell :D
crouch
ahh, the screaming if we lost. that lot could do for keegans game id bet though.

We SHOULD win with that lineup, but how many times have we said that this season? Stick to the guns, no one needs a rest, they're fine (save maybe Javier).
4-1 'Pool as Owen walks out of Anfield wondering why he left in the first place....

I would NOT play Mascherano - let Alonso play again. He's looked pretty decent the last 2 games out.
Keep Torres in - but look to sub him early. Rest Babel, start Kewell and Benayoun.
Let Riise and Babel come of the bench (I find Riise better playing as a winger these days anyway).
Finnan should get a recall too.

I am hoping there is no massive rotation, only a few players switched up (2 or 3).
----------------Pepe-------------------
Arboloa------Carra----Skrtel-------Riise
------------Alonso---Lucas------------
Pennant--------Gerrard-----------Yossi
---------------Torres-----------------
Rest up Babel, Kuyt and Javi since they will have a lot of running and defending to do in the away match vs Inter.

Failing to get three points would be disaster.

f*ck resting them!
3 points is a must in this game!
it is easy to say, "oh we have Inter, we need to rest people". bollocks! rest them after the Inter game when we play Reading at home. keep this momentum and cohesion going. the Inter game is the 11th, rest people the 15th against Reading, then the first team will have had a 12 day rest before playing two games (a full week apart, mind you) against our biggest rivals. rest is built into our schedule.

i, too, am in the 'no need to rest' camp, especially torres...
theoretically, we need to score at least one goal to win this game...
theoretically, we don't need to score to defeat inter...
let's hope he can bag a third hat-trick in a row, and we bag the three points... i only worry becasue the magpies have to win a game eventually, right?
theoretically...

Remember Birmingham and Wigan at home? We were meant to roll them over and look what happened; 4 points were dropped before you know it. This team is on a roll and as somebody said, rest is built into the schedule and, at any rate, this is why players were rested in the first half of the season.

Agreed, except that we need to rest Javi, as he picked up a knock. Lucas is more than up to the challenge of bossing the Newcastle midfield and should be paired with Xabi.
I want to see Torres get 60-70, then subbed out. Same with Stevie G, if possible.

If Torres starts and isn't subbed too early I'm calling a third consecutive hat-trick for him. The man just won't stop, he's hungry.

Just saw where Mascherano is out for this game and is doubtful for the Inter match.

I can promise he plays against Inter. He's being held out here specifically to be fit for Inter.

The arsehole that stuck the knee in the groin with intent just to hurt, should have seen a red card. It was so obvious after the ball was that long gone.

of course an hour after I typed my post - the injury seems to be worrying Rafa more than it did yesterday. That said - Mascherano is a robot - there have been two memorable games this season itself where he went down with what looked like major injuries only to get back up and finish the game.
