Great Great news. I have no idea how any of it happened except that Quintanilla scored off of an Etcheverry pass, but this is just great. The Rapids have been playing very well, and this home win should help our confidence. And we're now over .500.

Neat, tidy, effecient, 1-0 wins.

I like it. :D

Oh yeah, and if we need to drop a player to make room for an SI, don't drop Quintanilla.

No, we're not. We're comfortably in 3rd and 2 points out of first. :D

Not only did we win, but we deserved to. Not that we didn't get a little lucky with Spencer's two off the woodwork, but still, we played well.
Not an elegant, dominating performance, but it wasn't an ugly win like Saturday. It was rough. That can be improved, they can find a groove. They'll read each other better, build on this confidence, and start putting together even more scoring opportunities.
And I think Esky will become a real goal-scorer, real soon.

A good showing tonight.
Tenacious, scrappy, high work level from more players.
What a strike from Q2!!!

Four things:

1. Quintanilla I think just got himself a starting spot, not just because of the goal but also his overall hussle and being in the right place at the right time (basically being able to read plays)

2. This was not a pretty game but not an ugly one either it was a little faster moving than Saturday but the heat made everybody slow by the end.

3. Anybody else notice the Stoichkov for Etcheverry sub. Hudson is really seeing now that those two cannot be on the field together.

4. Stewart played better once Stoichkov came in because he (Stewart) was moved out of that forward postition.

He should be everyone's man of the match - hustling and tracking back on defense, taking dangerous shots, and sprinting downfield on counters until the 90th minute. Where did he come from?

Quintinilla has sometimes shown a scrappy, dedicated manner of play.
It just all came together for him tonight.
Hopefully Ali and Namoff have started a trend in players turning it up, giving 120%

Ben also gave his all tonight, but we are used to that, so it's not as worthy of comment, I guess.

i'm glad that quintinilla had what seems to be his breakout this season. i hope we can look forwards to many more performances like that one. maybe when marco leaves the el salvidorian fans will have another reason to stay on board ;).

Victory, how sweet it is! :)

I thought that all of the DC United players were hustling out there tonight.

Everyone also has to keep in mind that this was a HOT Colorado team, and DC United rose to the occasion!

Just got back. Not a pretty game, but it was fun. We certainly got on Spencer's nerves as he kept looking back at La Norte. We also rode Garlick pretty hard. Wonderful stike by Quintanilla. It's exactly the type of shot that's been missing. No hesitation, none at all. Sheep************er's shot of the crossbar was what broke their backs.

We deserved to win this game. We have a few really good chances to add goals, but didn't convert. Colorado had a few chances too (Spencer off crossbar comes to mind), but we were the better team.

Great game by Quintanilla.
