Competition: Premier League
Venue: JJB Stadium
Date: Sunday, 9th March 2008
Time: 1600 GMT
Note the unusual start time for this one.
It's back to business in the league as the team travels to the northwest to pay a visit to our old loan buddy Steve Bruce.
Wigan is just two points above the drop zone right now, so they'll be motivated to try to distance themselves from the bottom dwellers. No complacency for this one, lest we end up with another result like we did at Brum.
And... maybe if we're lucky... we might even see this guy.

I think a win here also means that it's St. Totteringham's Day. Someone can check my math, though...
Arsenal are on 65 ... and a win moves us to 68.
Sp*rs are on 32 with 12 games to play. They can only total 68.
I'll be in England for this one! Hope to find a pub in London somewhere to watch with some Gooners – maybe I'll be able to run into some of you there.
Wigan 0-2 Arsenal.

I'll go with a 2-0 and with a goal early for once. Hopefully we can get RVP in for at least a half. Also Walcott might be able to keep on his building of confidence.

I was just saying in the other thread I can't wait for this.
Let's stuff them, go 4 points clear...and have a nice St Totts glass of bubbly.

Just doing it while I was thinking about it.
Still not sure when we last scored in the first half - might have to go look that up.

I actually think Wigan may be harder than Milan.
Mainly, there's the awful rugby pitch factor... it's going to annoy if not depress our guys.
But also what are the chances Wigan will come out to play like Milan did? Or will they just try to shove & kick us?
Anyway, I think this will be a big test, even though it shouldn't be.
Hope I'm wrong.

end of the day, they suck.
with the talent we have at the arsenal, we should dominate this team no problem. if we lose, we should lose the league.

Hopefully we can carry today's form over to the match this weekend. I think it'll be tight though, 3-1 to us with RvP getting the late goal to secure us the 3 points. Gotta keep rolling, especially with the run of form that United is in.
Up The Arse!

These are the games we didn't have the mettle for in the last four or five seasons...after the glitter of the Champions League...Wigan? And then they'd stuff us and we'd be happy for a point.
This is a different crew from Wenger 2.0, of course, so we'll give it a better go, but it will be a tough one. A lot of travelling this week and still a lot of injuries. Look forward to Van Persie getting a good 60 minutes in.
I'm going for a 0-1 game with Bendnter scoring.

After that exhilerating performance in Milan, I think the players will feel a bit relaxed for this one and will actually struggle against a Wigan side desperate to get itself out of the relegation zone. I predict a 2-1 or 2-0 win.
But then again, my predictions have always been wrong, so...

This should be the next step in regaining the winning confidence Arsenal had at the beginning of the season. Flam and Cesc will be able to work over Wigan's midfield and the back 4 should be fine with Heskey or whoever else they throw up front. Walcott should start because of Eboue's ban, right? I hope so and think he is just starting to break through.
As for RvP, I'd prefer for him to stay on the bench for this match. The pitch at the JJB is so effin awful he could break his glass legs just walking to the center circle!
2-0 to the Arsenal.

After last night victory Arsenal must keep the pedal down and roll over Wigan.
While I want to see RVP back on the pitch, I don't think this is the game to bring him back.
Any word on Rosicky?
By the way let's all hope Kolo will be back, Senderos is a liability at best.

Senderos is a liablility when he plays against quick moving dribblers--I think. He's fine in the air and/or against plenty of strikers who aren't so wiley. Not that, you know, I'd ever prefer him to Kolo!

This is yet another tough mental test for our boys. They have the drive, the talent, and everything else to push on in the league. They must build on the triumph in Milan.
They must do it. 3pts and carry on. Come on Arsenal!!!:D

Though I'd love for the boys to keep the foot on the pedal, I can't remember a recent time when we've come off a big win and subsequently killed the following "lesser" opposition. Wouldn't be mad at a rout, but I think the air will deflate a bit and we'll win a gritty 2-0.
You know the type:
- We dominate but its scoreless till the 65th.
- Adebayor scores
- We look like we have the momentum, but suddenly sit back
- 15 minutes of Wigan pressure
- RvP puts it away in the 88th minute
- Worked harder for the 3pts than we really shouldve.
(Hmm...am I being a party pooper?! :p) GO ON YOU GUNNERS!
