Not only was it a Monday match, but we also were still experiencing the tail end of hurricane force winds and storms that blew through Germany over the weekend.

Why travel in that shit when the match is on free-TV?

What f#cking sense would that make??
to see my team, any f*cking day my friend!

It could be the start of something. Or it could be that they were fired up for a Monday night television match that could put them right back in the thick of the race and played a bit over their heads.

Either way, one thing is constant. Despite all that dominance, they didn't get the job done.

yes my thoughts exactly, but it sitll gives me some optimism like i said...I'm not saying that they're going to play like this every match! obviously we're not (this is in fact SC Freiburg, consistency is not our game)
But at least i know they are capable of playing like that, we just need to take our chances...but again, this is SC Freiburg so we aren't always used to that!

He's in Freiburg for a reason. Not a good reason either. However, he can be a good 2. Liga striker and you are right to expect more from him. I don't know about "a lot more", but you are right to expect more.

Yeah i don't expect him to score 20 goals, but i do expect him to create some chances and perhaps score somewhere around 7-8 goals (would be very helpful)
He won't save us, but he is capable of making a big difference and we need that right now.

Offensively, I think you guys are definitely on the right track. I don't know about goalkeeping being a "major" problem. If you're willing to give an underachieving striker time, why not a young goalkeeper??

I hate to sound this way, but you also need to remember who you are. You aren't going to get major goalkeeping talents beating down your door at SCF.
we have just done exactly that... a young goalkeeper in Michael Langer, the new guy from VfB...I don't know what Dutt really wanted him for, but apparently he looked better in training and Walke really has been poor this season. He's made some great saves but he's not consistent or reliable....Way too many weak goals have been put past us this season.

Well, I don't think the fans turning against him is what put Walke on the bench. I've said in many other forums, the day the fans start making personnel decisions is the day your coach/club is doomed to failure.

Those two keepers both know they have one guy to impress. Dutt. No one else matters.
again, i never said that it was because the fans...What i mean is that the fans have turned against his play...If we are not satisfied with his performance... i'm sure that Dutt feels the same way and obviously he does or he wouldn't have put someone as old as myself for starting keeper last match.

If you guys can't win there, you've got problems.......

cheers to that...

Well, obviously some fans older than you decided to exercise some common sense instead of taking a chance with a storm system that had not totally passed.

You need to remember something here young man. The fans here are not like you who would brave anything just to see a live match. They see this team week in and week out. Some choose not to potentially put themselves in danger and not just you, but "Borussia" (who should also f#cking know better) choose to talk shit about Mainz fans?

They are arguably the most passionate in the country. Just because people exercised some damned common sense, it doesn't make them lesser fans.

It just makes them smart.

Well, they should kick the crap out of Kaiserslautern on Friday. And they are on Monday again next week when they host Koln.

Even though they will probably play over their heads again (big match on Monday night), that match will still tell you what you need to know about this SCF team.

we have just done exactly that... a young goalkeeper in Michael Langer, the new guy from VfB...I don't know what Dutt really wanted him for, but apparently he looked better in training and Walke really has been poor this season. Actually, you got Langer because he was beaten out at VfB by Ulreich and knew he'd never see the pitch at VfB. That's not exactly "young talents beating down your door."

This is a guy who wasn't good enough for VfB and no one else higher wanted him.

He might be an improvement for you guys, but in the end, you just fed off VfB's unwanted scraps.

again, i never said that it was because the fans...What i mean is that the fans have turned against his play...If we are not satisfied with his performance... i'm sure that Dutt feels the same way

And my point is one has nothing to do with the other. Sure, you're not "saying" they do, but you sure as hell are linking them very closely in your sentences.

and obviously he does or he wouldn't have put someone as old as myself for starting keeper last match.

Tell me, what is the "legal age" for a keeper good enough to start in the 2. Liga? You go with the best you have and if the coach feels that 17 or 18 year-old is the best he has, then he'll freakin' go with him.

If the kid is the one with the coach's confidence, then what the hell does his age matter?

Where is the law that makes it so "incredible" to see he would give the kid a chance.

Do the names Neuer or Adler mean anything to you? They weren't supposed to get chances because of their ages either.

Take it from some urban genius. "Age ain't nothin' but a number." Especially if someone is already talented and poised enough.

I'm not saying he is, but just getting the point across that if the coach has confidence in a guy, then what the hell does his age matter??

LOL, Keith really, relax - drink a beer! :D

you totally misunderstood most of my post, and took it way too seriously :D
i guess that's a common problem with internet because you seem to picture me saying that with the complete opposite tone i was thinking of.

example: if it comes across me insulting Langer for being my age...then i'm sorry but i was not questioning that at all...I've been wanting Langer to play a match ever since he got here.

and i never said young talents are beating at our door, clearly they're not, etc.:D

Perfect Friday night for me! :)

Btw: Aachen won just 1 of the last 16 games against Fürth (in 2001).
Kaiserslautern's situation didn't improve after another home match without victory...

The Hoffy train doesn't skip a beat, even with a send off.

FC Köln stays in the race, just stay close and get lucky at the end.

I hope they will lose the next game against Aue (who has to win in order to stay alive)! Their run simply must come to an end now. :-)

In contrast to Köln & Fürth, they have the advantage of playing at home on matchday 34. Could become a final game against Fürth...

the question is, will Fürth have their annual let-down at around matchday 30? :p

That will be the first match ever I'll actually root for Hoffenheim. :)

And I have to admit I almost want them to get promoted now after whitnessing how they totally crushed my beloved VFL. That was no sexy time. I don't want to play them again next season. If we stay up, that is.

Last season it started at matchday 32...

Where was 1860 at that time? :-)
