There's currently more litigation between Couture and the UFC than TheSlipperyOne's last paternity suit. All of that needs to get resolved first. But when it does, look for it to get signed ASAP.

Fedor is going to be a free agent again soon according to MMAnia.com.

If that is the case I have a feeling the legal issues between Couture and the UFC might just go away.

At one time I would have agreed with you 100%, but you can never count out Randy Couture. He may be in his early to mid 40's, yet he fights like a 25 year old man. The guy is a cardio machine and a top wrestler. We all know what Fedor brings to the table, thats why I could see this fight going either way.

P.S. It looks like Fedor is going to fight ex-UFC heavyweight champ "Big" Tim Sylvia first.

Could go either way? Other than a technicality has Fedor ever lost a fight? Randy would be an underdog, and it would be surprising to me if he won.

I would rather see Mark Coleman fight Couture. I don't think Randy could match the rate of Fedor. Now Minotauro might be a better fight. He can take so much damage, but he finds a way to win. Then maybe not, he has already lost three times to Fedor, but not in the cage ;)
