Oh I bet Magath would love to knock Bayern out! Bring on Dortmund in the final. It would be nice to have a Bayern/Dortmund game again that actually means something.

And it would be nice to be in the UEFA Cup next season. We sure as hell won't get there through the Bundesliga.
But first things first. CZ Jena didn't get this far by "bending over" for "bigger names." BVB will have a fight on their hands on March 18th.
And BVB are not good at dealing with scrappy teams who would kick their grandmother in the shin to win the match.......

I did not see it posted here, so I wanted to put out that the BVB v. CZ Jena match will take place on Tuesday, 18 March. Kickoff at the Westfalenstadion is scheduled for 8:30PM Central European Time.
The Bayern v. Wolfsburg match is on 19 March with the same kickoff time.
With you guys in North America going to DST this coming weekend, kickoff for both matches on the East Coast of the US will be 3:30PM.

Congratulations to Dortmund on securing qualification for Europe next season.
As long as you learn from our mistakes, Nuernberg's mistakes, you'll be qualified for the Uefa Cup and can look forward to what is always a brilliant trip to Berlin. Could you win in the final? There'd be a slim chance to, but we'd be getting ahead of ourselves if we talked like this, first you have to beat Jena, something many sides who are your equal failed to do.

Exactly. That is why you don't see me speaking or typing as if we have already qualified. Many BVB fans are doing so, but I know better.
We will have a fight on our hands in two weeks. That much I do know.

"There's only one Borussia - The myth is back"
That game was a "Liga-Pokal" match between Hertha & Dortmund in Jena, just a few months after BMG's re-promotion in 2001.

Uwe, I think "mythos" actually translates into "legend....."
A "myth" basically equals a "fairy tale."

Mythos in German soccer can also be described as the "soul" of something..i.e the odd history, scandals, rivalry, achievements and other stuff that give the club its own character.
Lack of mythos is a terrible thing, it means that your club is plastic a la Wolfsburg or Hoffenheim :p
But about DFB-Pokals and the Uefa-cup....What happens if WoB beats BvB in the final?

Thanks for that!!

Well, as I say, all clubs have to start somewhere......

It will mean Bayern let me down! LOL!! ;)

Depends, the academic use of myth in English is more in line with the German. However, in this case your suggestion is indeed much better.

question for the Dortmund fans:
Who would you rather have win the other semifinal?
If Bayern win you're qualified for the Uefa cup after the next round, but will be underdogs going into the final.
OR
If Wolfsburg win you won't be qualified for Europe yet, but will stand a much better chance of taking home the Cup(which would also bring the Uefa Cup along with it).
What would you guys prefer?
If it was my team in that spot I know i'd rather have Bayern qualified, it would give us a European spot and we'd have nothing to lose going into the final, and if we did win, it would be a famous victory, beating Bayern in the cup final.

I'm with your point of view. If we manage to get past Jena, I definitely want Bayern in the final. I'm not afraid of a team who had to cheat to get past 1860.
