Well since there is going to be more talk about Eduardo, I took the liberty of starting a new thread. I found this picture which speaks volumes:

For those who are interested there is a long interview with Eduardo in today's News of the World. (http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/0203_eduardo.shtml)

Thanks Skizz. Wow, that's quite an interview. Confirms a lot about the severity. Apparently the early rumors about amputation consideration were not that far fetched. Amazing.
My only question is... since it's News of the World... how likely is it that all of these quotes from Eduardo & Lewin are actually real and not made up?
p.s. Like Eduardo I can't bring myself to watch it in close-up or slow-mo or anything that really shows the break happening. I witnessed Diaby's when it happened live because it was unavoidable. That was shocking but I'm assuming Eduardo's was more graphic, more horrific (compound fracture of fibula). Maybe Eduardo & I will be able to avoid video of this forever, but somehow I doubt it.

It's the infection he has to worry about. That's what got Busst and could get him.

Yup. I assume he's on prophylactic antibiotics.

There is no chance the quotes could be made up. If you quote someone on something and they haven't said it, they will sue you. If they say something then construe it differently to how it was intended, that's completely different.
In conclusion, it's all true.

Eduardo is considering legal action against Taylor if the tackle ends his career.
http://www.express.co.uk/football/view/36665/Eduardo-may-sue-Taylor-over-injury
There's a precedent for this type of action, most recently, serial leg breaker Kevin Muscat was sued and agreed to pay damages.

I don't see how he could possibly win when you consider the nature of the challenge. If his career is unfortunately ended then insurance money is all he would get.

I don't see your point. The challenge was reckless and dangerous, that's why the player was red carded. Did you actually watch it, apart from the replay they showed on MOTD?

I have seen it numerous times and the fact remains that it wasn't even a bad challenge and the challenge itself did not cause the injury. The momentum of both players following the challenge, in addition to Eduardo's planted foot, is what caused it. I cannot see how Eduardo can prove that there was any intent or blame on the part of Taylor. That is what separates this case from the ones around the world that have let to compensation. If Taylor is forced to pay compensation for an accident that occured on the pitch then it sets a worrying trend that would destory the game as we know it. I certainly don't want to watch touch football anytime soon.

He must be part of the seemingly popular school of "thought" that says if there was no intent then nothing can/should be done. I just don't get it. If I was driving and accidentally killed or badly injured someone, would the court give a rat's ass if I said, "It was an accident, I didn't mean it"? No, I would be found negligent and would have to take whatever penalty dished out. Eduardo's leg bones don't care if there was intent, and if he never plays again Martin Taylor and/or BCFC would be liable IMO, and should have to pay him a healthy sum for a career's worth of lost wages.

The key difference is that all Taylor did was go into a routine tackle that did not even cause Eduardo's injury. I do not see how he can be blamed for simply playing the game. It was a freak injury. As I said above, for him to be blamed and found liable will be the end of the game as we know it.

Oh, i see. It was Eduardo's foot that caused the injury, not the fact that Taylor planted a flying lunge in the middle of his shin. If only Eduardo had chosen to float on air, two feet off the ground it could have been avoided. So, If it was such an innocent challenge, why was Taylor sent off?
Do you really believe the shit you write? I've always given you the benefit of the doubt and assumed that you're just trying to wind us up, but maybe you really are just that stupid.

Funny how this thread quickly slipped into the same old arguments that the old thread was so filled up with.
How bout we try to focus on new developments like news reports that have come out, rather than rehashing the same old? *he says knowing there's a rat's ass chance that this will happen*

It was not a 'flying lunge' though. You really need to watch the tackle again because it is clear that you have not managed to comprehend what actually happened. The reality of the situation is that the tackle was not high, not studs up and not malicious. However, the tackle was a fraction of a second late and there is no denying that fact. The tackle itself did not even cause the injury. What caused it was the momentum of both players immediately proceeding the tackle. Neither could do anything about it and Eduardo planting his foot was the final factor in what caused the freak accident. The fundamental problem with what most of you have been claiming thus far is that it has no basis in reality. Any claim from Eduardo would fail under the law as I understand it because there is simply no case for Taylor to answer. The problem Eduardo has is that he cannot prove that Taylor either deliberately injured him or did something that is beyond what is expected in a game of football. If it did miraculously work then the game would be royally screwed. Quite why some of you refuse to accept this is beyond me.
EDIT1: Sorry NorthBank74 but if Arsenal fans continue to write nonsense then people will continue to correct them.
EDIT2: It's not just me anti. Read the following thread and what other non-Arsenal/Croatia fans have posted. Pay particular attention to the posts by RichardL.
