Plock begins their UEFA cup campaign this afternoon with a match at Ventspils in Latvia.

Ventspils currently are second in the league just 3 point off the leader, Metalurgs. They have scored 62 and given up 12 so far this season.

A tough test for Plock to start. A decent team in midseason form.....doesn't bode well for the Poles.

very good result for Plock. Road draw with an away goal is good news for the return leg next week at home.

i watched the game on tv while i was in poland...
a rather boring game, yet i am still happy with the result for plock..... they had a very good chance to make it 2-0 but a shot hit the post... still a good result and they should win and advance... yet they are not strong enough to advance very far.

That team is really crap - were lucky to be in the UEFA Cup in the first place by finishing runners up to Wisla Krakow in the Polish Cup (not to mention just lucky to be in the Ekstraklasa). Good that they got knocked out now, because if they had to face someone really good in the next round it would have been ugly.

actually, regardless of how crap they are, this loss is going to hurt the Polish club coefficient in the next 5 years. gotta hope katowice comes through.
