Didn't want this to get lost in the Bayern Munich board

Lendoiro about BayScum bosses: "Beginners' mistakes"

Munich - The struggle between FC BayScum Munich and the Spanish first
division team Deportivo La Coruna about the transfer of goalgetter Roy
Makaay is still ongoing...

One day after the first match of Makaay in the BayScum jersey, the argument
between FCB and Depor went into its next round. Deportivo President Augusto
Cesar Lendoiro said that the German champions had made "beginners' mistakes"
in the transfer deal.

"BayScum have made it very easy for us", said the Spanish club's President
to the press on Wednesday.

Lendoiro thus reacted to the claims of the BayScum CEO Karl-Heinz
Rummenigge, who had earlier said that the Galicians had "violated all
trading morals" in the deal.

The La Coruna boss even went further to attack the whole BayScum
management-trio. Commenting on Beckenbauer's, Hoen*********************'s and Rummenigge's
active football career in the past, he said: "They played football when they
were young. I learned how to negotiate professionally."

One of the mistakes the BayScum management made - according to Lendoiro -
was that they made the Makaay-representative Rob Jansen their own broker in
the deal.

"BayScum play good football, but their transfer negotiations are lousy",
said Lendoiro. The threat from Rummenigge, to launch a probe into the deal
with FIFA, was ridiculed by Lendoiro.

"If anybody has a reason to launch a probe, then it's us! FC BayScum made
the deal with Makaay public when he was still under contract with us!"

Hoen********************* had actually taken back an earlier announcement by Rummenigge.
"The case is closed for us. There will be no legal steps against La Coruna
and we will not consider going to FIFA either", said the Manager to the
Berlin-based "Tagesspiegel".

Makaay's transfer to FC BayScum last Friday had been realized after lenghty
negotiations for 18.75 Mio Euro.

There's an article on Sport1.de that pretty much says the same thing: http://www2.sport1.de/coremedia/generator/www.sport1.de/Sportarten/Fussball/Bundesliga/Berichte/Hintergrund/fus_20bun_20depor_20streit_201308_20mel.html.

However, the translations in the article on TEAMtalk are less vitriolic: http://www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Story_Page/0,7760,660781,00.html.

That wasn't me, but came from a Dortmund supporter. He always refers to them as Bay Scum

While Bayern certainly acted arrogant in the whole ordeal (par for the course for them ;) ), Depor never acted as straight shooters. They said they would do one thing, then do another. Then after Makaay was already practicing in Munich, they were fiddling with eleventh hour details, trying to use it as last second extortion. I followed the whole saga through out the summer, and frankly, Depor acted like complete weenies.

I think Depor was just trying to give Bayern a bit of struggle just because it was Bayern. Everyone has read of all the ugly stuff Bayern has done over the years, and the line about "they were playing football, while I was learning how to run a business".
