...to not want to stay here. Why would he even consider a dying club like Juve? Especially if we win the title?
Arsenal is the future.
Gunners in bid to avoid Flamini exit (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=520288&in_page_id=1779&ito=newsnow)
I say the club should give him what he wants--he is VITAL to our success this season. In the matches he's played we've been much more in control. In our disasters like the Manc FA cup exit, he barely played.
Get it done, Wenger. Get it done.

Well, it sounds like we are offering him serious wages for a DM. I love the guy. He's gone from squad player to our most dynamic player.
Two years ago I wouldn't have questioned anyone wanting to make the move to a Juve or Milan, but now, Serie A is in serious trouble and the police action is troubling. But... this is the time for him, negotiations-wise, to cash in on his play. His ceiling will never be higher.

Exactly. I really hope this is truly just media hype. Flamini has become huge for us and our current success. The sooner he's re-signed the better.

If it was such an open and shut case that he would be staying here, he'd have re-signed already. The fact that he hasn't is a pretty good sign that he is at least considering all of his options.
I'd be curious to see what the numbers really are - how much we are offering versus how much other teams (Juve?) are offering.
If he wants to leave, I would easily understand it. If a team as big as Juventus offer him a contract worth millions more than Arsenal does, he'd be stupid to turn it down. I don't know that it is a step forward for him, but it is not a step down. If he can stay at the same level and make a lot more money, he ought to take it.
That said, Arsenal should pay up.

I understand there are always rumors out there, but it is somewhat troubling the number or rumors about teams targeting Arsenal players. flamini, diaby, clichy, hleb the always persistent ones regarding Fabregas....it should be an interesting summer.

Well, in truth... Almost every team constantly has their players talked about. It's just that if you're an Arsenal fan you read through 100 news articles and see the two that mention Arsenal players and it seems to be more than it is.
If there genuinely is a heightened level of professed interest in Arsenal it would be because our players are good, they are relatively cheap, we have shown a willingness to let them go in the past, and we have also shown some hesitancy to giving out big contracts.
We are also linked to buying basically any player in the world who scores a goal before he turns 20. It goes both ways.

Ahh, it's you again. The troll with stupid opinions and no facts.
Juve were once richer than us, before we moved to our new stadium. Thanks to their cheating ways, and the Emirates stadium we are now in 5th, while Juve are no longer on this list. Within the next 2 years when we complete our real estate developments we may leap frog right behind madrid at 2nd.
More fans = more money. The fact that Juve couldn't crack the top 10 despite their lower tv revenue suggests that they don't have as many fans as you think.

Violence at an all time low in Serie A is probably still higher than the highest ever at any other major league. Just recently there were more stabbings by Roma fans.

I've heard that Juventus officials have been calling Flamini non-stop.
They must think he's a referee. ;)

How do we get ourselves into this possition.. there should be no reasonfor any arsenal player under 30 leaving on a free transfer ever (squad or starting 11)!!!
This is poor contract management... I understand he's had a Real Breakthrough season.. but we should have resigned him in the summer or let him go...
I really hope he Stays...

To be fair, before this season who really knew he'd be this important?
But yes, I can't imagine at this point the club not giving him what he wants. He is hardly a player that should be moving on.
Maybe we could sell them Gilberto instead?;)

The how is easy. He didn't play very much at all last year, didn't think he was in the plans to be a major contributor and had a talk with Wenger where he was assured a chance of competing for the spot (he was certainly helped by the timing of the Copa this past year, making Gilberto unavailable for the pre-season and beginning of the season) sealing the deal that he'd not ask for a transfer out this past summer as he was rumoured to be doing. Instead he stayed, has had a great year (far better than ANYONE on these boards, or outside of the clubhouse thought he'd have) and is now in the position to command far more than we would've been willing to offer last year for a squad member!
That is how we got to this point...7 good months of play preceeded by a year of not showing much.

Juve are not interested...

Renewed speculation this week has indicated that the Bianconeri are keen on landing the former Marseille man but sports director Alessio Secco has responded to the reports.
"There is nothing true about our interest in Flamini," he told Juventus' official website.
"He is a good player, there is no need to emphasise this, but we have never tried for him.
"So much so that, this morning, we put [Jean-Claude] Blanc in touch with Arsenal to reassure the London club.

You're discounting two major factors here.
Arsenal aren't owned by wealthy men, so the business has to pay for itself.
Juventus are owned by the Agnellis, who are the richest family in Italy. They're run as a philanthropic enterprise as much as anything else.
The other factor is these financial results are from the 2006-7 season, am I correct? If so, then of course Juve were in Serie B that year, and so wouldn't have as nearly impressive financial results as they would have in their usual position near the top of Serie A.
They're only 4 points off second and have only lost three games all year..it's not like they suck. They're still one of the giants of European football.
You can say he has no basis in fact, but other than more fans I don't think he's said much wrong. They certainly have more pedigree and more prestige (most domestic titles in their league, European success where we don't, grandly nicknamed the Old Lady, etc), it's certainly arguable they have more money as well.
I'm not saying Flamini + Juve = Gone, but when Juve calls, you listen.
