Any one know where thursday's game between U.S and South Korea is being shown? Summer's does not have it listed on their web site.

I emailed them a week ago and the wrote back saying they will be showing some, but not all of the matches. You just need to keep a close eye on their schedule.

Look at the second post, by K.

Under Summers there is a hyperlink, i.e. underlined blue text.

Click on this with your mouse, i.e. left mouse button.

That should take you to Summers' homepage.

By the way, Summers is located on Wilson Blvd. right by the Courthouse Metro station in Arlington, VA.

Cheers.

How crowded would Summers be on Thursday for the 1 pm US game?

A co-worker (who coaches his kid's U-15 team) just asked me about wanting to watch the tournament. He doesn't have Galavision so we might be heading over to Willie & Reed's tomorrow for lunch (on his dime, too!). I'm going to walk over there and speak to the manager about showing it. I'll post the answer when I get back.

The owner wasn't in but I left a message for him to call me. I will pass on the information after I speak to him.

If the game is on Galavision, then Lucky Bar can get it. The person to talk with is Paul. But if you just show up, I don't believe that they will be that busy in the afternoon that they can't flip the channel and put it on...

OK, I just got off the phone with the owner of Willie & Reed's. He said he'll show it even without me having to say that this would be the first time many of us would be seeing Adu. I'll probably be a little late but if you're going to be there by 1:00, let Bobby (the GM) know that we spoke with Matt yesterday.

Does anybody else here work in Bethesda?

I work in Bethesda, and will probably head down to Willie and Reed's for a late lunch, but I might not be able to stay for the whole match. I'll try to grab a co-worker of mine and bring him along too.

Thanks for doing the footwork on this Lanky.

If anyone else is going, I'll be the guy with a goatee, glasses, and a tie.

Isaac.

My older son played against Adu over the years- state cup match, tournaments, and scrimmages. Look for Freddie's amazing knack for pushing the ball away from him, and then somehow pulling it back (as if it was on an elastic rope), then quick firing it in the upper right corner-very cobra-like. He was amazing to watch, but if I had known he was going to be the Lebron James of soccer, I would have taped more games with him playing my kid. Too late now.

Bumping this to add my comments.

I'm sure many people will be at Summer's tomorrow morning at 11 am (or 1055) to watch the USA-Brazil quarterfinal which is being shown on Galavision.

I'm going to try the Capitol Lounge on Pa Ave. They have satellite and open for brunch at 930. I will call an hour ahead of time to make someone is actually there who can operate their system.

If you're going to a bar / restaurant in DC it might be useful to know that Galavision is channel 404 (sorry, I don't remember if that's DirecTV or the Dish network).

That'll be cutting close to the end of the Arsenal/Boro match. I have to start work at 7 am. I hope to make it for some of that match, and maybe the U-17's.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

well now, the golden boy not looking so good in the first half here. somebody ought to teach him that when the same step over move doesn't work 5 straight times, not to try a 6th. me thinks there are at 7 guys in yellow who are bit better than him.

and the brilliance of ellinger certainly shone brightly. brilliant strategy to sink back and just kick the ball out of bounds--maybe brazil will get tired of getting the ball, there seem to be no ball kids. or maybe he is coaching them to send slow, flat balls into the middle so the brazilian midfield and forwards tire themselves out relentlessly breaking on the US goal.
