Nothing has been made official but i heard that Chivas would be traveling this week to NY to play a friendly game against the Metrostars.

This game is to help improve realtions with the MLS. Chivas neglected to play The Metrostars after the Terrorist attacks of 9/11. Chivas will also take flowers to where the Twin Towers onced stood in Memory of the people that worked there.

I think this is good, and hopefully it'll placate a lot of the people who were pissed after Chivas didn't play, but there's still going to be people in the MLS who are going to talk sh!t. They're just hurt that Ruggeri (?) felt that the game with America was more important then the Merconorte.

Ruggeri did the best with what he had. This new guy, what's his name travieso, tapado?? I'm not impressed at all. Makes me wish we still had Hermosillo and Galindo. At least the Sub-40 looked like a team, not a bunch of little kids running around with no direction.

They talk shyt regardless.

Its a meaningless friendly and merconorte was losing credibility.

Ruggeri didnt cancel because of America. If you recall, the previous game that was played in Venezuela, Chivas sent NacionalTJ and some of thier reserves. His reason for not going was safety and that merconorte was not paying what they were suppose to. THe sponsors backed out before the Cup even started, but the brianiacs in CONMEBOL decided to go on with it. Ruggeri kept begging the Promotora to withdraw from the Cup. Promotora did not want to until it was too late. So a couple weeks before the game in Venezuela, Promotora wanted out of the Cup, but CONMEBOL told them if they did they would get suspended and fined. So, Promotora was pissed because they were not getting paid what they were suppose, so they just sent thier reserves. Then the unfortunate events of 9-11 occur. And come 10-17, the game against Metros did not happen because of those reasons.

All of this could have been avoided if Promotora would have listened to Ruggeri.

But i think its a good gesture to go to the site and pay your respects.
