How does Eduardo's injury compare to other awful injuries at Arsenal?

It was just an idea.

I can't think off the top of my head of a more graphic injury to occur to an Arsenal player.

Dudu or Diaby, take your pick. As for time out Pires is probably the worst. From what i have read about Dudu we are looking at 9 months max. That is that not that bad plus its a bone and not a ligament. Bones heal and heal a lot stronger then before they were broken, ligaments can be a lot more touch and go.

I'm not sure about the thread question...

but just for the sake of talking about something...I remember Diaby's incident and it was completely intentional. Maybe he wasn't thinking, "I'm going to break his leg", but there's no doubting that he wanted to hurt him. I was furious after that.

On Eduardo, it's open for debate I guess.

I don't remember much about Diaby's incident but this incident with Eduardo will stick in my mind forever and he is now my second favourite player of all time after Ian Wright becuase of what this kid has got to go through in the next 9 months or so and it happened just before his birthday as well poor sod. I know peeple will say that is the worst reason to have to say he is my second favourite player but I don't care.

I also think I feel affected by it because he is only 3 years older than me.

Like anybody else's reason for having a favorite player is any better. Seems like a sound reason to me...

I usually have a soft spot for players that play the same position I do. For example, Hleb has become my favorite player this season.

I was sitting next to the Arsenal bench the FA Cup game where Robert tore his knee. I will never forget it, seeing his face as he was stretchered off, seeing the bench reaction, and knowing that he was never the same footballer ever again. I feel terribly for Eduardo, but I was devastated for weeks that I travelled to across the ocean to see my favorite team, only to see my favorite player get carted off in agony before my eyes.

Looks like I've started something here.

Ian Wright will always be my favourite player as he was always my favourite player growing up. I think when people are younger their favourite players are always the strikers because they are the ones that score the goals and therefore win the games.

I know this thread is meant to be about Arsenal's worst injuries ever but how about we make it upbeat and make it about why a player is your favourite player and change the name.

I agree. Diaby's had a bigger impact on me. Maybe because it was right in front of the midfield camera and Diaby's screaming was absolutely chilling. Or maybe it was because of the absolutely clear intent to harm.

I can't remember ever being so angry at an opposing player (Smith) or team (Sunderland) as I was that day. Took me a couple of days to calm down.

Eduardo's was equally if not more horrific, but for some reason it didn't make me quite as angry. Hmm...

I nominate the lead pipe whacking I always fantasized about giving Igor Stepanovs.

Dan Smith, currently featuring in the reserves for Aberdeen in the SPL. One start and two appearances as a sub for the first team this year.
