In an obvious side effect of two cups of Diet Mountain Dew this morning, I realized that DC could be in first place by midnight Saturday.
To whit
DC plays Colorado and Chicago
Metro plays KC and LA
Chicago plays a pissed off Columbus team and us
Someone please help me find reality.

I think you missed the deadline. But I was thinking of running for California governor too - on the ban the LA Galaxy platform.
By the way, I think we could also be last in the East again by midnight on Saturday.

Why in the hell did they do that? I mean the Muttros suck and all but that seems unusually cruel. It's certainly unusual.

Or were they selling to groups of camp kids or something? The 10,737 they drew this afternoon is probably close to the business they'd do on a Wednesday night anyway. They drew over 14K at their last two weeknight games, but they pulled a 10,602 on a Wednesday night before those two (7/31/02 vs. Columbus).

The way I heard it was that many camps attended and the second game featured high powered high school teams - maybe St Benedict's Prep?
