Since Rodan brought up our other oft-injured player in another post, I thought I'd run the same numbers for him that I did for Rusty. I was shocked by the results:
Record in games started: 3-5-4
Record in games finished: 1-5-4
Record in games did not play: 2-2-1
Record when getting at least 1 point: 2-2-2
The last time we won a game where he had either a goal or an assist was May 10th (game 5).

It is sad to see such a hardworking and undeniably skilled player struggle. I don't think it is JMM's fault. He is too similar a player to work well with Twellman. He would be invaluable if Twellman gets hurt, but has much less value when used with Twellman. I don't discount the possibility that JMM (or S. Nicol) will yet find a way to use them together successfully. Let's hope so, but the odds are diminishing and JMM's injuries are hampering the process. Unfortunately, his trade value is also diminishing fast, particularly at his salary. If the season is a failure JMM may be gone for experienced outside defensive help.

I ask this not to troll, but has MLS caught up talent-wise to guys like Moore? Maybe it's a good thing overall that he can't just come back from England to MLS and do what he previoussly did?

I'm guessing constant injuries, some of them severe, have more to do with it than the league catching up. That said, the league *is* catching up; but not to the extent I think you're implying.

I'd also tend to blame injuries, both ni slowing him down and in the lack of consecutive games he's played with his teammates. The first few games he played (specifically, his brief stint in Chicago and the first Burn game) I thought he frequently looked a step ahead of most of the other players on either team.

Ick. Numbers can only go so far, but that's one ugly stat.
I thought Joe looked awesome for that one game against Dallas when, on one memorable play, he faked Suarez to the ground in the Dallas box.
Of course since then, Dallas has reserved a spot at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, and Suarez was somewhat ignominiously traded, only to sit on the LA bench. Kind of casts a different light on the game now...

So is he healthy again and just might not start vs. SJ, or is he now just considered to be the 3rd striker behind Harris and the kid from St. Louis?
Where can I get an updated injury report???? (Yup, I'm asking for Fantasy League purposes as well as curiosity as a fan... sue me).

If he's healthy, he'll start. But I think the team is downplaying his injury. They're calling it just a knock, but if you saw the reaction in Ludlow, he certainly looked like a guy who KNEW he #ed up his knee.

Be interesting to see these numbers indexed against the quality of the teams JMM played/didn't play against.

During pregame warmups today, there was someone on the field, on crutches. Was that JMM? I couldn't tell from where I was sitting.

That was Revs assistant coach Matt Driver. Driver blew out his ankle in practice a while back.
JMM was there. Not on crutches, though.
